antrum-magus “The study of beauty is a duel in which the artist screams in terror before falling defeated”. Favorite track: Nervosa.
    calebfanac thumbnail
calebfanac Despite how 50/50 the second half of this album was, the first half is some of the best, most aggressive and haunting noise I've ever listened to. I can't tell where harsh noise begins and black metal ends and I don't care. Favorite track: An Habitation Of Dragons And A Court For Owls.
    amoebicmint thumbnail
amoebicmint An incredibly bleak and noisy album. A very interesting and challenging listen for anybody that likes noise. Feels very threatening and cold. Great stuff. Favorite track: The Field Hag.

    Ippocalyptica thumbnail
Ippocalyptica It took me six years, but I finally bit: Saidan’s brand of dangerously-close-to-pop-melodies black metal is as infectious as it is legitimate, and calling this the softer - but not lighter (as this remains dark material) - analogue to Lamp of Murmuur is reasonable. More to follow on 19 June.
    Abyssius Murkraken thumbnail
Abyssius Murkraken Goddammit, I just ordered a bunch of other albums and now Saidan decides to put up a pre-order..... *sighs*..... take my money...
cold purveryor of narcotic death thumbnail
cold purveryor of narcotic death Alright alright take the money lemme have it. The irony of living 7 hours drive from the artist and having the vinyl shipped across an ocean. 😅

Matthew VonDell Another collection that was in constant rotation for me in 2024. Perfect for driving on a bright and clear winter morning with the sun streaming down, killing us slowly while the heater turns the car into an amniotic sac.
    Mark Kantner thumbnail
Mark Kantner This is an absolute masterpiece, Erik.
    rushshirt thumbnail
rushshirt I was all for CvJ's shift in the mid-2010s towards background-filling drone, but Suicide by Sun stands among the artist's earlier works as a worthy companion to the masterful Night on Tape--the blinding eternity to the former's comforting insomnia. "Led Away" delivers on the promises of dazzling heights, while "Deep in Black Night" flashes with the brightest contours of darkest drone. Favorite track: Deep In Black Night.

hecku Without a doubt this is one of the most unique albums I've ever heard and is one of my favorites. It was genuinely difficult choosing a favorite song as at least 3 songs from this album are among my favorite tracks ever. Incredible album and I long for more truly Ambient Drum N Bass like this. Favorite track: a desert wind.
Biff Johnson and Shelley Andrews thumbnail
Biff Johnson and Shelley Andrews DnB done Rapoon style as only he can do !!!! Very interesting and thought provoking. 2 hours of great electro creations. The trumpet rings a bell. Favorite track: you've been a great contestant.
