   Otis Nugatory Tompkins Square Records + covers of Elizabeth Cotton, Mississippi John Hurt and other legends: what's not to love? These blues are a true delight and ones I'm sure to keep, too. 9/10

   

   bobstep Thanks to Muireann (and, apparently, her old-blues-addicted dad) for "keeping" these blues respected and played so very well. It will be fascinating to see where the music, leads her lovely voice and those magical fingers!
   Old music, new music, American music, Irish music, African music, future-music ... I wonder if she's encountered younger tradition-explorers like Nora Brown, Meredith Axelrod, Rhiannon Giddens, Dom Flemons, and Jake Blount.
