Juan Valdeath This one is a personal favorite and a real landmark in the OSDM revival, at least IMO. While there have been plenty of fine albums that you could call OSDM in the time since this came out, I don't think anyone has done better in paying tribute to the old gods (particularly the Swedish and Finnish ones) and still sounding vital and compelling.

Having been witness to a live desecration has only added to my reverie when I listen to them. I am in love! Favorite track: Nex Monumentum.

Choco Latte Funebrarum may be finished, but they did leave us with this piece of death metal brilliance. It's devastating, dark, and filthy rotten to the core. Favorite track: Cursed Eternity.

S'il n'y a aucun adjectif à côté de son patronyme, c'est bien parce qu'il veut livrer l'histoire ancienne dans sa forme la plus primitive, sans écrin. Ainsi, Altars Of The Precipice Possession, sa première offrande, entremêle guerre et mysticisme, feu et neige, beauté et chaos, autant de paradoxes incarnés dans un tortueux, inquiétant, charnel. If there is any project that can make me fall in love with DSBM it is Woewarden... :) Because it isn't just that but there is a whole spectrum of styles here! When coupled to some fantastic vocals, you really have the perfect recipe imho... :) Plus Woewarden have a new album due out in just over a month on the 12th of June so... :) I am already in my own little music paradise & you know what? H.L. WOEWARDEN present a thrilling depressive black metal debut. Most exciting are the soul-touching guitars and the variety of vocals from defiant, desperate shrieks over black metal screams to growls and even spoken words. The vocals aren't dominant but well integrated in the organic, unpolished and atmospheric sound. Outstanding as well is the songwriting as many songs are catchy and full of own character, that is not always the case in that genre. Check "The Name of Suffering" or "Degenerate ".
