Thomas Raven Great material, great performances, and a truly muddy mess of a mix on most of the record. The drums are mostly just thuds in the distance. I still appreciate this band and hope that they'll work with better engineers in the future. I've heard some of these songs played live and they sounded so much better than they do here.

malfunction54 Dirtbag Transformation: "What is this?" was my first reaction. But what an amazing song. It reminds me a bit of the Pixies in how it pulls together dissonance and then resolves. Favorite track: Dirtbag Transformation (Still Dirty).

BobandoCommando My impulsive curiosity payed off again. Had no clue who these people were but after playing a track on here I could sense I'd love the whole album. It is a minimalist sounding album but has a fun addicting energy to it that made me repeat the album over and over again. Despite the energetic and playful nature of it, the most subdued and somber track, "Julie", was a standout to me. Favorite track: Julie.

valse_muziek Fugazi feels like my favourite band yet i always failed to connect with their studio albums (except end hits but thats just for sentimental values). But in a way this session just clicks with me. Call it albini favourism but for me it just works! The way they just skip the bullshit and keep all the space for the song is just amazing in a way that feels normal but ingeneeal it just isn’t. Albini is a master in keeping the essence alive and thats exactly what a band like fugazi needs.

Wyn (Ceramic Rabbit) So good for innumerable reasons. Chaotic arrangements, intense vocals, cover art. I love coming across a band who out from the gate sounds so sure of themselves. Every song is an overtly zealous and religious-unbirthing gut punch. I also go to the deep cut of the opening track if I need a good cry. Favorite track: M. Dada.

I do not have the same background as the band and yet this album pierces and bleeds me dry every single listen. It serrates me to my core. The vehemence, elegance, and absolute raw filth this album brings through it’s lyrical commentary, sound layering, and overall energy. Cannot wait to see y’all live insh’Allah. Alhamduililah!! Daniel Welsch Hana Vu ist viel zu jung und zu traurig, um ihre Jugend zu verklären. Dennoch weint sie ihr – mit Anfang 20 und damit an der Schwelle zu einer neuen Phase – bereits hinterher. „I’m just getting old/ I’m just twenty-two“, wiederholt Hana Vu in der Coda von „22“. Sie singt das mit so viel Inbrunst, lässt die Gitarre so herzzerreißend wimmern, dass man ihr die Klage übers Altwerden abnimmt.

BobandoCommando A good friend showed me this album and I ordered the record as soon as I heard Hammer. She has a beautiful, deep voice that perfectly contrasts the upbeat, pop beats of a lot of the album's songs. I cannot wait to discover more of her music. Favorite track: Look Alive.
