Alrihkh This is a decent album, but it just doesn’t check as many boxes for me as “Maps of Revenge and Forgiveness” does. I love the fact that it makes a concerned statement about the current, alarming state of the world due to our race’s negligent behaviours. Kudos for that and the added link for our enlightenment! There are definite similarities to Thom Yorke and Radiohead here. 7/10. Favorite track: Airtight.

Deej Amazing release from an incredible band, possibly my band and album of the year. I can't pick a favorite yet, they're all good. This music is my happy place.
    Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) thumbnail
Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) The songs of Ed Cartledge, who's also known as the main songwriter of the "Early Cartographers", undoubtedly have some properties of progressive rock, while at the same time sounding quite like post-rock. This is an interesting intersection of genres, occupied by just a few bands commonly tagged as "post-progressive" - a musical terrain opened up by "Radiohead" and the likes. It's a fascinating variant of progressive music that doesn't rely on the legacy of 70's rock, but rather explores new paths into the unknown, thus taking the term "progressive" literally. Favorite track: RedList.

Alrihkh Worthy of inclusion. 7/10. Favorite track: Excess (Dead Zones Part II).
    Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) thumbnail
Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) "Maps of Revenge and Forgiveness" (2012) and "Vanity Project" (2018) were a pair of exceptional albums that really knocked me out with their indescribable beauty. This two-track EP emanates the same mesmerizing post-progressive magic, which permeates my soul completely, and shuts off the world outside for some time. Ed Cartledge is one of my big hopes for a bright future in contemporary rock music. Favorite track: Caution.

Alrihkh Although these instrumental versions are quite cinematic and enjoyable by themselves, I concur with Sven B. Schreiber. I prefer them with the vocals.
    Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) thumbnail
Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) This album came with my purchase of the "Complete Discography". Frankly, I didn't listen to all tracks, as it seems it's basically the music on "Maps of Revenge and Forgiveness" without the vocals. I prefer the full-blown version. Favorite track: Laughter Track (Instrumental).

redrackem Stellar work from Curtain Twitcher - I hugely recommend this album. Glacial, shimmering, quirky and definitely has a Sheffield vibe - synth city! Favorite track: Sonate.
    Huw Costin thumbnail
Huw Costin Deep, gorgeous, and quirky and even funny in places, heart-breaking in others. Post-modern electronic music with nods to the unrealised future of Tangerine Dream, Brian Eno, & Shopping Trolley.

jamesb1099 Own the record, and got to see a lot of these songs live! The production value continues to climb, and felt like this was such a good blend of shoegazey guitar layers along with really catchy pop choruses. Favorite track: The Scene.

frenchdsco53 Brilliant pair of tracks. What a shame "Constand and Uniform" was left as a b-side, would've loved to hear another French song on Instant Holograms. Favorite track: Constant And Uniform Movement Unknown.
