willypthree This is awesome. Like Suffocation style death metal without the slams. Great vocals. Awesome drumming. Banging riffs. Ripping solos. Favorite track: Inhumation.

Unhinderedbytalent There is a sense that Observance has lots more to it that I could describe but, in the end, there is no getting away from how gloriously bleak it is. Although I would hazard a guess that for some this barrage of hopelessness would be too much, I doubt anyone familiar with PM is coming to this record expecting spade after spade of positivity. Favorite track: Natural Law.
    justintylerhughes thumbnail
justintylerhughes Modern masterpiece of atmospheric death sludge
    Dan Hébert thumbnail
Dan Hébert Heavier than an M1 Abrams rolling over your foot. Fuck me, this is oppressive. Then again, it's Primitive Man so I knew what I was getting myself into. Favorite track: Iron Sights.

insidethewire I first found this band I believe in the NewYork scene report of Maximum RockNRoll back in the early 90s. I ordered a Tshirt and demo from them. The Tshirt is long gone, but the demo is still around. Still one of my favorite albums of all time, still holds up after all these years. They are pretty much the standard I compare most bands to. Favorite track: Servants of the Warsmen.

Nova Been a fan for over 20 years. They haven't missed a step. These songs sound like rage incarnate and easily stack up with their classics. 10/10 Favorite track: Gato Negro.
    Lute FP thumbnail
Lute FP Buying before listening. A friend just told me he heard it and liked it, and I was not aware they had released anything new since ‘93. Gotta show my support for Bay Area thrash metal.

Their 1988 debut Eternal Nightmare is one of the best thrash albums to come out of the original scene. Their ‘later’ stuff didn’t have the punch of the debut, largely due to the vocals, the merits of which are debated to this day. I’m in the LOVE THE FUCKING DEBUT VOCALS camp.

    Let’s see what they’ve done now…

Леший - Гопник из Хэви-метал This band took the ideas of Candlemass and made Epic DOOM Metal even better. I can not praise this band enough! This album is absolutely KILLER! Favorite track: Byzantium.
    gebs thumbnail
gebs Beneath the unpolished exterior is an album that I can't stop listening to. I have no idea why, but I keep returning to this riff-filled doom album, usually without ever skipping a track. Favorite track: Byzantium.
    z3r0_qual1ty thumbnail
z3r0_qual1ty Bad ass playing, killer vocals and a cool vibe!!!! Favorite track: Heavy Riders.
