Werna Wolf One of the most original albums I've recently had the pleasure to listen to, over and over. Mixing jazz and black metal is nothing new but is rather rare and quite a challenge as well. Etienne Pelosoff has done it with great mastery, in a way that makes it both impressive and appealing, as both genres are not simply juxtaposed but seem to have given birth to something unique, powerful and gripping. An absolute gem.

Jody B. Etienne Pelosoff asked himself the question "How would a collaboration between Miles Davis and Mayhem sound?", and am I ever glad he did. Pelosoff successfully and brilliantly pulls off this fusion of brass based jazz and second wave black metal. Favorite track: Trve Brutal Black Jazz.

Raphael A wild jazz golem stomps its way through outer space. Strange instruments make up its very form, jutting out in angular irregularity and swirling and surging to a machinic rhythm. Tiny metallic creatures scuttle across and between its vast surfaces, artificial lifeforms contributing their glittering voices.

The meticulous crafting of every single sound is nothing short of phenomenal, the elaborate drum fills are just mindblowing icing on an already ludicrously sumptuous audio-cake. Amon's output alone has made 2020 a brilliant year in retrospect.
