_oyasumi_ A solid album with plenty of re-playability down the road. Well worth the change. Rest well Tomas, thankyou sir.

thekurtaction This is an excellent album anyway but knowing the circumstances it was recorded under adds another layer of meaning. Some of the lyrics are haunting. Favorite track: The Dissonant Void.
    Christopher Martin thumbnail
Christopher Martin I rarely ever listen to Metal music anymore, but seeing a new At The Gates release and also being the final work of the late Tomas Lindberg I of course had to give it a listen. Arguably, in my opinion, their best album ever, and I never thought they would be able to outdo Slaughter of the Soul. RIP Tompa † Favorite track: Tomb Of Heaven.

It was fascinating to finally hear the shelved recording of the classic, Dusk And Her Embrace. I came to prefer this original recording. Reading the huge booklet that came with the vinyl - and this download code - I learned that both recordings of this album were before V Empire. Favorite track: Heaven Torn Asunder.

Obsidian One Interesting to revisit this classic and hear how it was originally intended. Riff at 1:44 of 'Heaven Torn Asunder' remains the same, but with different vocals surrounding it. The symphony starting at 5:09 in 'Dusk and Her Embrace' is more prominent, and the female vocals at 2:20 in 'Funeral in Carpathia' are stunning. Having this resurrected version feels like uncovering something long buried. I do miss the original cover art, though — I had a poster of it on my wall in rez.

jgsteck My first album of Cradle’s was Hammer of the Witches, and this follows in that style. Thankfully, in my opinion! Favorite track: White Hellebore.

Mickey GemInEye As I share most of my views directly on this page let it be known this band and their majestic compositions have the power to shred the very fabric of existence and tear the cosmos into pieces.

"We will tear your soul apart"
~Doug Bradley Favorite track: When Misery Was A Stranger.
    Hollow thumbnail
Hollow This album reminded me of when I was 15 years old and listened to 'Nymphetamine' for the first time. Awesome work! I hope you guys bring the other albums to this platform Favorite track: White Hellebore.

Obsidian One I sometimes forget about this album, often ranking 'Cruelty', 'Dusk', and 'Midian' as Cradle's top albums. But after re-listening for this review, I'm reminded how much I like it. 'All Hope In Eclipse', 'Born In A Burial Gown', 'No Time To Cry', and 'Scorched Earth Erotica' are all great tunes. I used to have the uncensored 'Scorched Earth Erotica' video on VHS. I still remember my girlfriend at the time, looking rather confused, asking, "What are you watching?" Definitely not for everybody. Favorite track: Scorched Earth Erotics.
