Camden Richter A masterpiece of a modern punk album. Kat's vocals are killer, and the tracks are incredibly catchy, so hard to pick a favourite! Favorite track: Tonight (I’m Afraid).

Mohaski Dark and scorching metallic muck. Filthy and disturbing. I am turgid. Favorite track: Rape Kit.

txhdoomhammer Scarier than every “black metal” band that’s barfed up dogshit in the entirety of the genre. Couch Slut is actually extreme.

fyeahmetal Despite the fact this record goes from dark to darker, musically it has enough cool little nooks and crannies to sustain interest throughout. In fact, each track is different and is my favorite track at different times. So we get punishing '90s style noise rock (Jesus Lizard, Unsane), but also almost anthemic alt rock, feedback, sax, and bits of metal (Fudge Tunnel, maybe) embedded throughout. The star, of course, is the beautifully unhinged vocal performance. Favorite track: Carpet Farmer.

timkappa I discovered this band live and it was a purely insane experience. Weaver's Weft feels like you're actually in a dream. Can't praise Slift enough. Favorite track: Weavers' Weft.

Colin M. Atmospheric and unsettling, it feels much more sinister and foreboding than “Ummon” but no less brilliant of a journey. Favorite track: Nimh.

Spud Sorceress Ilion is an amazing album, blending sci-fi and horror atmosphere into a complex, varied prog metal experience. If you haven’t heard Slift before, start with Ummon, but don’t sleep on this one.
Personally I prefer using Enter The Loop like an intermission between Confluence and Weaver’s Weft, but that’s a minor preference against such a unique album. Favorite track: The Words That Have Never Been Heard.

This LP is structured as a single, continuous piece of music – and although the record’s contents doesn’t push the line very far comparative to the experimentation of some previous albums, the innate beauty of Godspeed’s brand of post-rock prevents me from punishing it too much.
