VOIDHRA overwhelm me with a stormy black metal release, characterized by haunting, cutting guitars and gnarled vocals. The sound isn't explicitly retro, but fresh and powerful, though here and there I'm reminded of Swedish acts like Dissection or Sacramentum. That's a seal of quality, above all the trio of "As the Heavens Bleed Sickness," "Only Cold Winds Will Carry My Name" (haunting and majestic in the slower passages!), and "L'appel du vide" elevates the band to the top acts of German BM!
Favorite track: Only cold winds will carry my name.
