Michael I’ve been on this earth 38 years, and this album is the most beautiful sound my ears have ever heard. I have been pulled into its utterly unique, earth-honouring and deeply emotionally-resonant sonic undertow ever since I found it. It seems to have kicked off my own time of eco-grief, and I’ve simply never heard anything I can compare this to. A singular, exceptional album that seems almost required listening for the 21st century human being. Favorite track: Lacrimosa.

Mohaski I remember this band freaking me out in HS. A lot of punk and new wavers weren't sure what to make of Xmal. To me, they still sound pretty unique.A stranger and more dangerous kind of DEVO. Favorite track: Großstadtindianer.

rick-taylor One of the best post punk bands to come out of the '80s. Works very nicely in a playlist with some of the more punk than post punk stuff like Siouxsie and the Banshee's "Scream" or Bauhaus's "Flat Field".

zaclang I first heard John Peel play XMAL back in '83 in the UK and I saw them live in Madrid in 1984, - have been a fan ever since. I never expected to have them on my BC ap, and so glad they're here. Hopefully the albums will appear here too - if the later record labels allow.

zenthing Strange and immersive, an uneasy listen that deeply rewards multiple listening. personally I think it's a thing of fragile beauty.... Favorite track: Molfar.

verucagash These two individuals are simply breathtaking. Creative and beautifully unique in every possible way, but with a sincere earnestness behind it that tells you they're doing it for all the right reasons.
So inspiring that they're Ukranian refugees as well. Not to mention unapologetically non-gender conforming and neurodivergent. Favorite track: Anti-Lullaby.

Charles Mounsey Such a strong album, it is hard to pick a favourite. Powerful bass sounds with beautiful vocals and accompaniments. Its wonder is testament to the hard work the band surely have put in to get to this level of expertise. I write music but this is more than music, its an emotional experience. Thanks for enriching my life with this, which is now a go to sound for me. Did I mention atmosphere; no, well you'd better listen and discover that for yourself! Favorite track: Anti-Lullaby.
