    by Zao
    supported by

Joseph Parker With Zao I just buy it, no previews needed. I may check a track out but I think I wanna feel like a kid and wait for the cd to jam it on my portable player and headphones. This was such a sick surprise.
     ஓநாய் மற்றும் நாய் மற்றும் thumbnail
ஓநாய் மற்றும் நாய் மற்றும் The band aged like fine wine. Ive been along for the ride since 1998.

Dan's voice swallows all of you whole. Favorite track: Indoctrination.
    Lars Gotrich thumbnail
Lars Gotrich Well, that logo takes me back to the feral riffs and stark vulnerability that reshaped the metal/hardcore scene just before the turn of the millenium. Zao pays loving and loud tribute to its early rust belt influences with Creation is Crucifixion, Puritan, Passover and Abnegation covers. newsletter.vikingschoice.org/archive/new-music-friday-rust-belt-metal-euphoric/ Favorite track: The Data Body.
    jessejames2004 thumbnail
jessejames2004 Zao was the second hardcore band I ever saw. when one of your favorite bands covers a band from Erie PA it's a no brainer to listen to. I can remember hearing stories about Abnegation when I first started going to shows in Erie pa.

  3. Wildhund (Deluxe Edition)
    by Lantlôs
    supported by
    Cordial Despair thumbnail
Cordial Despair Lantlôs has to be one of the most rare sonic gems. I first discovered Neon a while back and didn’t really look beyond their Black Metal stuff until now. I was actually going to purchase their first release and decided on this instead. It reminds me of a lot of different artists, so eclectic would be the proper coining. Particularly, I feel it sounds similar to Early The Contortionist, Scale The Summit, and some Deftones(although I never really loved them). New favorite record!! Favorite track: Dog in the Wild.

t this album is what ohms wanted to be Favorite track: Cocoon Tree House.
    karma_on_earth thumbnail
karma_on_earth Dreamy, ecstatic and heavy! Lantlôs is successful in demonstrating that heavy music can convey euphoria, catchiness, and poppy bliss.

Emotional vocals and beautiful lyrics shine through, taking the best of previous Lantlôs albums and pushing far beyond their limits. Favorite track: Lich.

    David Fischer thumbnail
David Fischer I am slowly starting to close my knowledge gaps regarding genre classics, and Lantlôs has been on my list for long. Considering this work of Herbst and Angrrau has been released in 2008, it obviously has served as an inspiration for many artists - and justifiably so. It is (especially lyrically) desolate, grey and oppressive to the point I wouldn't be able to bear it on a darker day; like grinding down layers of the soul with sandpaper. Yet there is beauty hidden beneath the pain. Gorgeous. Favorite track: Ëin.
    lithiumsun1979 thumbnail
lithiumsun1979 One of the prototypes of black metal and shoegaze dancing in the sonic realm. Some pieces are more traditionally black metal than others but Kalte Tage is a masterful composition that sends this whole album soaring. Favorite track: Kalte Tage.
    mosafrreund thumbnail
mosafrreund Very melancholic, used to listen to it non-stop.

Awesome album, i approve. Favorite track: þinaz Andawlitjam.

Antilunio I have been following Nite since their debut album. and surely the band deserves more attention. The guitar craft it so delicious. My only comment, as a basists is that the bass is sometime while back on the mix. Congrats! Favorite track: Skull.
    spacciathemax thumbnail
spacciathemax Ciao a tutti! My old stereo Attila 📻 and I grew up on a diet of bread and NWOBHM.He is an extreme guy💀,crazy about Cattle Decapitation;I am more into traditional metal🤘.In the evening, after saying goodnight to the family🧑‍🧑‍🧒,we hang out listening to the new releases that Attila digs up on social media through his TV friend 📺 (dating? 😏).It only takes one "right" note and we jump up like crazy 🕷️.With NITE,30 seconds of "Cult of the serpent sun" were enough:that amazing album had ours! Favorite track: Cult of the Serpent Sun.
    pit-face thumbnail

    by Blackbraid

    Obsidian One thumbnail
Obsidian One Blackbraid is a spiritual force in the black metal scene, bringing a unique perspective and culture that was missing until the release of this album. "Barefoot Ghost Dance on Bloodsoaked Soil" is immensely powerful, showing me that black metal is as strong as ever. "The River of Time Flows Through Me" is excellent as well, with a crushing melody and unforgettable song title. Hail Sgah'gahsowáh, the new blood of black metal. Favorite track: Barefoot Ghost Dance on Bloodsoaked Soil.
    Joel thumbnail
Joel This album absolutely kills it. Top notch badassery all the way through. Some of the best metal I've heard, and a supremely impressive debut!
I will absolutely be preordering Blackbraid II as soon as it's available. Favorite track: As The Creek Flows Softly By.

fyeahmetal This band is amazing! For having only 3 elements - drums, bass, vocals, the music has a ton of variety yet cohesion. It's half metal (think Om, but more aggressive) and half rock (catchy motifs and songs). The smooth but powerful vocals really put things over the top. Every song is unique and memorable, and the record rewards repeat listens. Favorite track: The Darkness.
    Nenad J. thumbnail
Nenad J. I absolutely love how vast the sound of YOTC is and how deep it cuts. One of my most played albums of 2025. Favorite track: The Darkness.
    Colin M. thumbnail
Colin M. YotC have never released a bad album, and with the incredible self titled they are not starting now. Time will tell if it is recency bias or not but I’m currently of the impression this is their best work. Incredible album! Favorite track: Alone.
