metalheadrocker This is for all albums. I had a wonderful time seeing you at Riverfront in Cincinnati, OH. Instantly loved y'all. Thanks for making great music!
    frög thumbnail
frög this song has made me cry more than once. i could relate to the lyrics so, so well, and the music video felt like something i know.
after having watched fernanda's video about the concept/lyrics/music video, i could relate even more.

of course, this song is musically also very powerful, but that is all of crypta's music, in my opinion.

    thank you<3

    finnbchechik thumbnail
finnbchechik The first time I saw these girls I was prepping and making dough at my old pizza job during Covid My first song was ,Rise from the ashes, I was speechless on how bad ass this death metal is. I showed others at that time they didn’t like the stuff at all. I said mane y’all got hate boners. 😁 I’m gonna love CRYPTA to infinity and beyond 😘❤️❤️❤️🤘🏻 Favorite track: Shadow Within.
    Allan Bebbington thumbnail
Allan Bebbington Too many favourite tracks to single one out. Just saw them in Barcelona an hour ago and they were amazing. Charisma, musicianship and "simpatiquìsimas" with it.
    frög thumbnail
    frög "old-school death", they said.
while in many ways, that could be said about "echoes of the soul", this album musically has so much more to offer. it is melodic, has some BM elements, and the solos are breathtaking.
i was surprised & delighted & this quickly became one of my favourite albums.

the lyrics' socio-political messages & the spirituality & the depths of feeling & of being human are all things i can really, really connect to. there's a kind of empathy that is often elsewhere absent. Favorite track: Dark Night of the Soul.

buryit Impeccable vocals and solid musicianship. Great album. Crypta is underrated, they are so good. Watch out for them to go BOMB. It will happen. Got ticks to see them, will report back.
    aquabug thumbnail
aquabug Most adorable death metal band. Every song has a character, obviously a labor of love. Lullaby is my favorite, that bass solo! (why not listed in the dropdown?). Favorite track: Lord of Ruins.
    finnbchechik thumbnail

MARTYR Every track is dripping with attitude. Favorite track: Bleed.
    Discordia thumbnail
Discordia This is Not A Gothic Album. There is one track only that could be considered that. Serves me right for not reading the tiny words at the bottom.

Mildly disappointed to be honest - It's just another Alfa Matrix Sampler with the usual mishmash of Dark Electro, and harsh industrial thrown together in a big mess.
    Favorite track: This (Exclusive Mix).

LittleSeasonist Another fantastic compilation from the amazing Alfa Matrix label

dicecrow Rain in Soho sounds like the theme to a horror mini series about a small town plagued by a supernatural threat and I love it. Favorite track: Rain in Soho.
    fnord thumbnail
fnord The Mountain Goats (well, John Darnielle) recorded one song I truly love: Golden Boy. I picked up an early Goats album & while it was good it didn't really move me. This album, however, is probably the best thing the band has yet done. The music is sophisticated-- a confluence of jazz and folk, more than goth, but the influence of early goth music is there, as is a subtle humor. I am really impressed by this and I've been listening to it a lot.
    Mike Swag thumbnail
Mike Swag no greater love than to lay my life down for a friend / no sweeter pleasure than to see the credits clear through to the end Favorite track: Rain in Soho.

    oneleggedjedi thumbnail
oneleggedjedi This is dark, brooding and ominous! Complicated heavy music but you can hear a jazz-influence in the drums. The lyrics are in Hungarian, which adds to the melting pot nicely! Favorite track: Hajnali csillag.
    Eric Gedenk thumbnail
Eric Gedenk This is definitely my favorite Thy Catafalque. There has been a slow, subtle shift softer from album to album, and Geometria is really well balanced between all sounds.
    Alice M. thumbnail
Alice M. It took me a few spins to appreciate this as much as Meta, but maybe my brain just wasn't ready for that level of… Gosh, I can't even find a suitable word, here. Favorite track: Hajnali csillag.

ammoniumNh3 When I first heard the album I thought, okay, there are one, maybe two songs that I like, the rest are negligible. However, with each listen I like the next songs more and more. It's amazing. Each song has its own atmosphere, flow, heaviness, subtlety, space. Worth it. Very much. Favorite track: Stone Leader Falling Down.
    gatko thumbnail
gatko An album that encompasses many qualities, from ethereal and melodic to loud and confident, there's a song for everyone on Witness. Never a dull moment with this outstanding collection! The album that got me into VOLA and convinced me to stay for more. Favorite track: Head Mounted Sideways.
    Alice M. thumbnail
Alice M. Probably tested that a while ago, but came back for good after hearing that vocalist on Einar Solberg’s solo album.
May sound pop-ish, but there’s more there than meets the eye. Favorite track: These Black Claws (feat. Shamen).
