Rob releases this and is like, "Now I am become Doom, the destroyer of worlds"... Love the instrumentalists series. This one feels especially cohesive.

I've been banging the drum for the South American underground scene for a long while now so its good to see others who are digging what's going down there. This excellent compilation focuses primarily on Chile but if you like what you hear here don't be afraid to check out what else is going on in South America.
Favorite track: Corre.

The Midnight Toker.

Egg Wizard
Had a beautiful moment laying on the ground with my daughter sitting next to me pointing at my "Waking Life" poster and saying "Dadda" while the epic guitar and bass grooves from the Psyrup tune washed over. This series of compilations are amazing. :)
Favorite track: All Of Creation.
berserkerowlbear
they know what there doing mixing psych/prog/blues/metal
Favorite track: Altarsong.
Assault Buick
This goes hard. Really hope to get one more release from these guys
Oliver Juan
Less soft psych than their self-titled. More heavy and groovy sounds in this one, the vocals fit very good with the heavy guitar !
Favorite track: Paper Squares.
If you haven’t listened to this you need too. And when you do you won’t be able to stop going back to it. Heed my words and stop denying yourself the life changing experience Druid jamz doth provide. If you think you’re cool and dig heavy and you haven’t checked this out you need to hand in your cool/dig heavy card until you do. Once again heed my word. Heed my word. Just heed my word(s). I have spoken.

I originally listened to this album because of the song titled "Mushroom Fields / Luke's Wall" and that song absolutely blew me away. I listened to the rest of the album, and I've been hooked ever since.
Favorite track: Mushroom Fields / Luke's Wall.
Assault Buick
This is the first album I ever bought in my life. It’s that good.
Favorite track: No Good Man.
MG
A classic. One of my favorite albums of all time even though it does nothing really new the songs just kick so much ass to the point it doesn't matter. I have worn this CD out in my car.
Favorite track: Roots & Beings.
Nocturnal Egg (Jordan)
Favorite track: The Death of Baldr and the Coming War.
FLXFR
Melancholic and furious, while majestic and anthemic.
Favorite track: Aptrgangr.
Madrigal_hjalmar
Baldr..is masterful with the introduction channel surfing through the terrible politics of our day… and while I don’t advocate a violent overthrow…as I get older i am seeing more and more the flaws with our society…the greed…with the final shift to the banjo et. al, peace and joy are found…out in nature…in the woods..where man’s poisonous influence does not exist. Getting back in touch with our primal selves and less greedy feels better everyday. Let’s move to the country and blow up our TVs.
Favorite track: The Death of Baldr and the Coming War.
Obsidian One
I seem to be experiencing a resurgence of interest in death metal these days. This album is brutal and unrelenting from start to finish. There are great moments throughout, like 0:12 in "Of Pillars and Trees" and the opening riff in "Tenaillement" which repeats throughout. This last mentioned track is especially addictive. Brutal death metal done right.
Favorite track: Tenaillement.
Christos
Ρε τι μαστορέψατε εκεί?! It’s been a long time since an album glued my brain to the wall. The mix of tight, staccato riffs with traditional rhythms and instruments, and the overall atmosphere, is absolutely killer. Bravo!
Brett (Lascaille's Shroud / Soulmass)
A stellar album, breathtaking in the way only a handful of albums I find every year are. A must listen-to album for me.
Favorite track: Heart of the Sea.
uwe1973
IMO one of the best albums of 2024 in the metal scene. Greece’s Khirki deliver it all - melody, speed, originality through Greek folk influences and panache.
My faves are The Watchers of Enoch and Father Wind. Actually there are only really great songs.
Favorite track: The Watchers of Enoch.
Metallurgical Fire
Winds of Leng aren’t very prolific, but Morbid Entities is worth the wait. Death metal EP of the year without a doubt. This will steamroll you and pulverize your bones to mulch. Their competitors are on notice and need to bow down.
Favorite track: Monuments of Agony.
Dumb mmmn
you'll want to keep quiet, keep your head down and not make any sudden moves right now.. this 'Morbid' entry has been brought to us on the Winds of Leng
Jimmy McNulty
WoL are back with a monster of an EP, well worth the wait.
Take the music from Horrid Dominion, improve the already great production, experiment more with the songwriting, increase the intensity, give the drummer a shot of adrenaline... and prepare for a bludgeoning.
How does the vocalist still have any vocal chords?!?!
Favorite track: Spirit of Desolation.
Stephan
The recipe is equal parts heavy and psychedelic sounds! Distorted guitars lay the foundation. Heavily distorted Hendrixian guitar solo’s screaming over backdrops of raw scuzzy acidic proto-doom !
Favorite track: lust for the dark.
jesusgdibm
ALL SONGS ARE HEAVY!! NICE!! ALL THE ALBUM IS GREAT!
Favorite track: electric voodoo.
Mike Henson
Not quite as heavy as some of their Italian doom brethren, these guys add an overwhelming level of warm fuzzy riffs to make their point. I am not sure what is going on in Italy, but this offering shows that the Italians may have the best doom scene in Europe.
Pepe Roni
Pure sorcerer’s fire
Favorite track: Black Dawn.
Ioannis Valiakos
Heavily fuzzed stoner doom with a pure 1970s feel that brings to mind bands like Atomic Rooster, Spooky Tooth and early Black Sabbath. Their song-writing is quite impressive, however, I 'm sure they can be more inspired with their choice of cover artworks. That aside, both their releases are of great quality and show that this band is capable of bigger things in the future. Check them out today!
Favorite track: Black Dawn.
