Favorite track: Human Resources.

    Luke thumbnail
Luke From the Wayfarer clean passages to the Blood Incantation prog interludes to Deafheaven blackgaze, we are treated to a constantly evolving maelstrom of pretty, heavy psychedelic black metal that it has been a pleasure to let wash over me.
    JDMP thumbnail
JDMP first time experiencing obsidian tongue…very cool psychedelic and progressive black metal that adds a good deal of depth and intriguing to the usbm scene. in some ways, the sound is very much like demonic wealth and beyond era krallice, but carried by crisp and compelling progressive passages. looking forward to this full release.

    bonetime thumbnail
bonetime Man I love this music with all of my life! The vocals and guitar are so prominent and such a good mix - I love to see it. Favorite track: No One Survives.
    Helhest thumbnail
Helhest A big thank you at the person who put Ahna growling into my ears because, hell yeah, this rules big time and rules many many times! A fucked blackened death crust hell on earth, with instant memorable riffs, vocals that gives you the shivers and an inner darkness that instantly gets back a bit of your soul. May I add the perfect execution.
Being able to enjoy part of their extensive discography (splits, demos, EPs and a full-lenght) here is just more than great. Favorite track: Pull the Trigger.
    The Mad Professor thumbnail

    Dylan Dempsey thumbnail
Dylan Dempsey an old friend recommended last minute that I go to a concert of some bands I never heard of. on a whim I decided to go. it was December 14, 2018. the bands were God Mother and Cult Leader. homeless man wouldn't let me see God Mother, but CxLx... my brain literally could not comprehend and process the intense energy coming from that band. I had to buy a CD and have them sign it. I did. that CD became the soundtrack to the next ten years of my life. love this band.
    autodidact904 thumbnail
autodidact904 Primarily reviewing for their cover of Mark Kozelek/Desertshore's "You Are Not My Blood", because that's just how great that song is. Gutter Gods and the title track to start offer a good juxtaposition to the slow, clean sludge of the final track. I was fond of their additions of these qualities to the latest record, and would love to hear them explore the contrast of the two fighting spirits- slow sludge rock, and pummeling hardcore- more. Favorite track: You Are Not My Blood.
    Alex thumbnail
Alex The obvious point of this album is the last track, You Are Not My Blood, a groovy, slow track, but the two other energetic songs before make a nice opposition to it. It's a short EP, but well worth your time. Favorite track: You Are Not My Blood.

mascherepersonae This work is a mystical journey.
    Viktor Pilkington thumbnail
Viktor Pilkington First stepping into Mohammad Reza Mortazavis expertly recorded performances may fool you to believe that post processing has been done to distort the sound. Could a lone drum possibly sound like this? After watching a video performance, the perceived magic is replaced by astonishment of Mortazavi's skillfull performance. There is no equal in recorded solo percussion. The rhythms and timings overlap to extreme complecity. Try to keep up! This is a must buy for anyone who dares.
    Jascha Narveson thumbnail
Jascha Narveson Crisp, even, snappy percussion on a single drum, but recorded with such a variety of mics that it sounds polyphonic: close-mic rim shots and bass booms mix with reverb of the gorgeous space this was recorded in to produce a recorded as multi-layered as some electronic music. Favorite track: Sudden Inspiration.
    Carlos Manuel Jager Juárez thumbnail
Carlos Manuel Jager Juárez I was lucky enough to see him live in Mexico City... an amazing experience.

    Ryan Johanson thumbnail
Ryan Johanson I've spent the last several years quietly wondering to myself what a black metal/post-punk hybrid would sound like, or if such a thing would even make sense.

This is exactly the sound I was imagining, brought to life before my very ears. Favorite track: Sister Faith & Sister Chance.
    Phyl Lobius thumbnail
Phyl Lobius ULTHA waren ja schon immer etwas Besonderes. Favorite track: Love As We're Falling Down.
    behexed thumbnail
behexed Aus dem absoluten Nichts, ein neues Ultha album?! Warum nicht? ;)
Weißes Vinyl bestellt, kann es kaum erwarten. All hail Ultha! Favorite track: Her Still Singing Limbs.

Giulietta Antonella ARY’s music is unique, it takes you into the deepest, darkest depths of the soul and makes you question your emotions, your thoughts - and whether you even ever really knew yourself. It has helped me in my own journey of healing from trauma and depression, and it makes me feel less alone. 🖤
