delirium trigger Saw them with Antichrist Siege Machine, Spectral Wound, and 1349 at Reggies. The amount of chaos this duo created was mind boggling. The guitarist's frenetic trills and riffs seemed always on the verge of spiraling out of control, but that badass girl drummer's beats were like a homing beacon for the guitar to hone in on before veering off again. Bought a shirt from the drummer who was super chill to talk to, but had to spread the word. The rest of the bands were hard pressed to match em. Get it.

StargazerIV Tom G. Warrior would be proud. OÜGHHHH! Favorite track: Second Possession.
    HaroldAllnut thumbnail
HaroldAllnut Like other comments, the word I keep using to describe this release is “spiraling.” Listening to this record is like being sucked into a bottomless whirlpool of lunacy. Hard to believe just two musicians produce all this chaos. Excellent. Favorite track: Inhale The Hovering Keys.

    StrengthWithin thumbnail
StrengthWithin I’m glad I found this. It’s Australian so you know it’s going to be nasty. Favorite track: Outwith the Plains of Ultimatum.
    Hussar1982 thumbnail
Hussar1982 It's absurd how fucking good this album is. The leap Pustilence has made in the 3 years since their debut EP is mind boggling. This album is catchy, technical, and aggressive. It's an incredible album that is absolutely essential for any DM collection. Favorite track: Outwith the Plains of Ultimatum.
    Mad Rosie thumbnail
Mad Rosie IMO this album didn’t get the respect or love it deserved. This is great furious death metal.

    Murphrygian thumbnail
Murphrygian Intelligent, Progressive Doom?! Spacy and spacious, but not entropy. Heavy riffs and spacious atmospheres. Cool take on metal, and nice Alan Holdsworth sound on the lead guitar. This album recalls some great prog and jazz fusion from yesteryear and runs it through the death metal filter.

If you like the dominant chords and jazz elements, check out "Mechanical Fiction" by The Gorge. Underrated gem.
    Salami Dick Death thumbnail
Salami Dick Death Cosmic/Cavernous Death Metal with an extra Prog twist done very well. This album adds Phil Tougas guitar solos to a few songs for some extra juice.

    ALL HAIL FRETLESS BASS
    RJ thumbnail
RJ Devastating old school death metal at the core with enough riffage, hooks, groove, neoclassical-esque guitar solos, and progressive, even jazz-like tendencies to keep things from becoming monotonous. 8/10 Favorite track: Abyssic Knowledge Bequeathed.

JDMP This is quintessential black metal. So raw and driving. Spirit Possession blew me away when I first heard their demo. This full length is no different. Glad to see it get a cassette run after I completely missed out on the vinyl run. Favorite track: Swallowing Throne.

subsequentseer Inject all the Carcass-esque gore grind into my veins. Favorite track: Fatal Scenarios.
    Diabolus in Muzaka thumbnail
Diabolus in Muzaka Heavily indebted to Carcass, but elevates itself beyond "Carcass Clone" status by sheer songwriting prowess. A great continuation of the Necroticism sound by musicians who have something to say beyond "we really like the third Carcass record." Favorite track: Fatal Scenarios.
    Casey Ball thumbnail
Casey Ball No lie, this might be my favorite death metal release of the year. The riffs are twisted yet flow well into each other, and switch between fast and grinding to fucking groovy. The solos are amazing too. Very notable Carcass influence—it’s a really fucking fun time. Favorite track: Suppurative Fugues And Purulent Etudes.

Wallow Within Here we have some of the finest Crust/Deathgrind around. Only seldomly I witnessed a band combining genres so smoothly. Fits like a glove. The groove here is earth shattering. That's my kind of summer hit (in the face).

Relentless deathgrind. This band does NOT fuck around, with most tracks barely reaching the 2 minute mark.
