Choco Latte Honestly the last time I was impressed by a Norwegian black metal album was 1994. These lengthy tracks are filled with icy guitars, hypnotic bass, killer drums, and evil vocals. Fantastic. Favorite track: The First Transcendental Key: Of Rituals (And Astral Spells).

sashavonkarl74 Many Thanks to Season of Mist for the code, much appreciated! Loved the CD digipak, great design and high quality booklet, as usual for Drudkh! Favorite track: Somewhere, Sometime.
    Saffron Robe thumbnail
Saffron Robe The inimitable Drudkh. Drudkh are to black metal as Kant is to philosophy — unimpeachable! These three tracks are suffused with polyphonic tones of fragile beauty that few bands can capture as well as Drudkh.
    Dr Sküllfük thumbnail
Dr Sküllfük A perfect follow up to Shadow Play, great atmosphere and excellent riffs, Drudkh can do no wrong these days it seems! Favorite track: A Moment in Eternity.

lithobius This album exemplifies why I've been following Drudkh since Blood in Our Wells.

arresting, haunting, solitude together. fog rising into mist above the mountains. the tedium and struggle of daily life, with the scent of freedom on the wind. Distant.... yet... Favorite track: The Thirst.

vojev There's a fierce urgency in "Shadow Play" that black metal albums often lack. One feels like it's written by men who are running out of time at any moment, but despite that, there's a true sense of defiance that keeps it from being despairing. One of my favorite albums this year. Favorite track: April.

Walter Campbell My favorite release of 2025. Plays like an epic tale that seamlessly traverses several lands of existence and layers of consciousness. Before you know it, you’ve left the funeral procession and are lost in the fog, stumbling through the crypts before bargaining a ride on Charon's ferry deep into the land of the undead. Thrilled to have this on cassette with the lovely insert. Choose your alignment and adventure; no matter, it all ends in the key of entropy. Highly recommended! Favorite track: The Phantom Miscarriage / Sidledes ledsagad av den lede / Nerkrupen i torvdjupen / Tupilak / Fyrsprång mot fördärvet.

cooper_tm Absolutely disgusting release from Pissgrave. The drums could be louder but if you are just looking some absolutely filthy death metal with war metal influence then this is perfect for you. Favorite track: Perpetual War.
    Low_Tuned_Death thumbnail
Low_Tuned_Death I’ll never think about bath time the same again. Favorite track: Impaled Vibration.
