mcdan77 Lovely record that rewards repeat listenings. Not sure if my favourite is the opener (with the great vocal), the long Floresta dos Sonhos, or the closing Tema em Harmônicos without the strings. Favorite track: Floresta Dos Sonhos.

    Dumb mmmn thumbnail
Dumb mmmn if you get trapped on a desert island, don't panic - wave your hands around and scream at it, it's supposed to scare it away... or rub tomato juice on it, it gets the odor out. If you can't do any of that then make a list of 8 for the BBC and this might be there

Ralph Douglas When Sufjan Stevens and James Blake get in on the act, you know something is going on for a debut album. Big scope, cross genre neo soul and art pop mix with superlative vox to create a singular debut!

    mrpiglies thumbnail
mrpiglies IMHO to my ears on my system in my room there seems to be an issue with the production. It sounds like it was recorded in a corridor with the instruments at one end and the vocals at the other, and the listener is placed next to the instruments. The kick drum and the bass guitar are over prominent and with the vocals being at the other end of the " corridor" it is difficult to hear or tell what the words are that are being sung.
The above in noway distracts from the artistic talent.
    petalmotel thumbnail
petalmotel This is one of the most pristine sounding recordings I've heard in a long time. The jams are ripe, the vocals wrap around you, it simply glitters. I'm obsessed.
    Jason Engelund thumbnail
Jason Engelund Riding a motorcycle on wandering roads, through grassy hills in the open big sky of California backcounty, that's the sound of Sunstack Jones. Favorite track: Nowhere near an ocean.
    Richie Rouse thumbnail
Richie Rouse I have really liked the band for a few years now but on this record they have taken things to a whole new level, it’s a masterpiece and has immediately become my album of 2020. As a huge fan of The Verve, it’s exciting to see the band channel that early Verve vibe, coupled with incredible harmonies, reminiscent of the great US west coast bands of the 60s. This is a very special album indeed. Favorite track: Where you gonna go.
