One of the best funk albums ever, I think. One the best Bill Laswell albums too. More room for jazz, rock and even drum and bass than George Clinton or James Brown allowed in their albums. Great tunes, great solos, great studio sound. Love it. I do also love the much more avantgard, extended jazz-funk of let's say James Blood Ulmer or Steve Coleman, but this Laswell double album is a great update and extension of the Funkadelic-Parliament tradition.
