dag_nabbhett never really picked up on Beach House until I saw them at a magical 2019 outdoor show one summer in Ohio. a standout concert memory. catching up little by little.
    napalmsatan thumbnail
napalmsatan Beach House at their smallest, most lo-fi, most bedroom poppish, most intimate. And I absolutely love it - it's an album that drips with youthful charm, a sense of 'we don't know where we'll end up, but let's make an album anyway!'. They were still finding their sound here, and it leads to many of this album's most interesting qualities. Favorite track: House on the Hill.
    Carson thumbnail
Carson My personal favorite album by Beach House. Right up there with Bloom and Devotion. Saltwater is my favorite opening track of theirs, and you cannot beat out the atmosphere that the early Beach House albums have. Favorite track: Saltwater.

codeword_my_fork Saw the live version on youtube and instantly bought it. Never heard of them before but the mere skill of all bandmembers was enough for me to look forward to every new album they will make. Absolutely superb! Favorite track: Mama Said.
    Ataraxia thumbnail
Ataraxia Nice clean guitar solos to take you back to the beginning of time. Hannah Wicklund definitely has the music in her heart and soul. And then she has a voice to bring it all together. This is someone to watch, and listen to, of course. Favorite track: Mama Said.
    disfit thumbnail
disfit Wow, this is a blast. Hard to pick a favorite. @Hannah: please add your full CD on Bandcamp. Favorite track: Mama Said.

llorence The Bell AND Void is my favorite track. These two songs combine to be that multi-layer comforter Ty describes in Hello, Hi. Favorite track: Void.
    Chromatic Dracula thumbnail
Chromatic Dracula Dark vibes! I'm thinking I'm hearing some polyrhythms in this one.

    mbx220 thumbnail
mbx220 This album blew me away, it's phenomenal. I like that they put away a lot of the shoegaze aspects from Wednesday and came out with an eclectic, more industrial and gritty sounding banger. Yet it is contrasted by the ethereal vocals. Amazing work. Favorite track: In Shade.
    mark francombe thumbnail
mark francombe I love this band for obvious reasons!
    Art Fin thumbnail
Art Fin This is a fantastic album. To me it sounds like the singer of Cranes fronting NIN. The band did a 180 from their early shoegaze work, replacing the trebly guitar haze with sparseness and a deep throb that at varying times could be industrial, noise rock, goth rock or trip-hop. The ethereal vocals float over it. They pulled a rabbit out of the hat. Favorite track: I Am You.

    duskbringer thumbnail
duskbringer Imagine me as a social media video of that guy eternally stuck in the 90s. "Hey, CAS has just released a track by The Doors" I say to myself wearing a different shirt. "Really? That's a little stran.." Music starts playing and there's a 70s dolly zoom into my face to a dutch angle of me as I bliss out, swirling my head around in hippie filters. Also the BAFTA for best use of syllables in a pop track goes to Favorite track: The Crystal Ship.
    Stuart Bishop thumbnail
Stuart Bishop Cigarettes After Sex = automatic buy. Cigarettes After Sex covering The Doors - buy twice! Favorite track: The Crystal Ship.

    Philip Graham thumbnail
Philip Graham At first Eartheater's Phoenix appears otherworldly, though really it's as grounded as can be--this music sounds like the secret wordless soundtrack to a dream. Favorite track: Bringing Me Back (La Petite Mort Edit).
    madeline thumbnail
madeline I don't know what I was expecting from Eartheater, but ambient was not it. Hypnotic and expansive.
    giselle thumbnail
giselle eartheater's technical skills are capable of turning a beautiful record into a sublime , ethereal new trance where the listener's mind can submit to a place so familiar , yet so unknown . I'm looking forward to going back to conceptual phoenix in original form , live sets , and la petite mort edition for infinity 🤍 Favorite track: Little Horns (La Petite Mort Edit).
