la_mort_noir Saw them in Luxemburg recently. Best gig of the year. My favourite live track is „Embers“.
    Ameya Bhabal thumbnail
Ameya Bhabal Someday, I will see them live. Till then, I’ll be listening to these excellent live tracks for the time being. Seance Room sounds absolutely immense. Favorite track: Seance Room (Hellfest).
    Bakhadeth thumbnail
Bakhadeth Never heard of them before seeing them live in Hellfest and that was an amazing discovery for me. Performance was excellent, I was totally taken away during the whole show. Instant buy for me. Favorite track: Embers (Hellfest).

  2. Javelin

SamuraiColorCutter Solid album from Sufjan Stevens. Easily the least-disruptive, and most-precisely composed album he's yet made. I've been following him since Come on, Feel the Illinoise and Michigan, and can say that his techniques have only become more refined since then.

Jackie Still reliably delivering shivers after all these years.
    Jasca1127 thumbnail
Jasca1127 Sufjan once again takes his personal turmoil and turns it into something completely and utterly breathtaking. Combining moments of tenderness with moments of electronic catharsis, Javelin's sonic mood swings are very much welcome, while also being executed flawlessly. Favorite track: Genuflecting Ghost.

Ramphocelus First heard this when I was a teenager in Mexico. Didn’t know a word of Icelandic but something about it just got me. Turns out it’s about an old farmer lying in a field with a broken back, basically dying and completely at peace with it. The stillness, the surrender. I felt all of that before I ever knew what the song was about. That’s everything. Favorite track: Heysátan (2025 Remaster).

dombalint Every record that Sigur Rós have made is a little bit different. I am personally a really big fan of their folk and classical stuff such as the Rimur EP and Odin's Raven Magic LP. Musically this record is very close to these, because it uses a lot of classical elements and instruments. Most of their albums are built around one emotion. Takk.... is the LP which feels like the start of March when nature starts to wake up, but you still have to fire up the furnace every night. Favorite track: Andvari (2025 Remaster).
    rikm thumbnail
rikm Quite simply a beautiful masterpiece. "Takk" is the sound of dreams and wonder and beauty, and it is among the most wonderful sonic journeys of the 2000s. This anniversary remaster is particularly impressive, bringing new highlights and a greater clarity to the work that inspires further listening and rediscovery. And anything that inspires me to rediscover this classic is a good thing in my mind...
