positronicping A powerful death doom slabette with tasty hints of funeral doom. What sets Haruspex Chants apart from the pack are the vocals; that switching between bottomless gutturals and blackened rasps is delicious/disgusting. Favorite track: Exalted Putrefaction.

zirtonic I value their variations on the formula as a devout Incantation disciple myself. They like to zag where their heroes would zig and while it might be simple I still find it refreshing.
    Dan Hébert thumbnail
Dan Hébert dark, doomy, vicious death metal that leaves you wanting even more. Favorite track: Enlightenment of Torture.
    Ben Smasher thumbnail
Ben Smasher To say that I'm blown away by the new full length from Father Befouled would be an understatement. "Crowned in Veneficum" is the album I've been waiting for them to make all along. It's just drenched in thick, murky and chasmic tone. The song writing is deadly, clever and you can tell @jstubbs and new drummer Amos Rifkin were a very inspired duo when they crafted this beast. This fucking album is merciless and it gets better with every track! The album dropped digitally a few weeks ago but today Favorite track: Katabatic Deliverance.

Dan Hébert The album is on the short side, just half an hour, but Justin's songwriting is grand, dense, and epic enough to make it feel longer. Favorite track: Ungodly Rest.

sashavonkarl74 If the band's ambition was "just to" reproduce old melodic BM classics like Dissection and early Emperor, I'd say it is a grand success, shit even the cover art reminds me of the "Storm" album... However, I wish this album had a bit more personality to it. These guys are from the U.K., after all. The first half is majestic, the second half a bit less. Still it's a very enjoyable melodic BM album. Favorite track: Lunar Hex; The Art Of Mighty Lycanthropy.

stevenamckay I miss Dissection, but these guys are keeping that spirit alive. Superb album! Favorite track: The Dread March Of Solemn Gods.
    Dan Hébert thumbnail
Dan Hébert A great blend of Dissection and Emperor. Gorgeous album art, too. Favorite track: Strigoi Diabolicum.
