Gleanie My favorite Henge album. This one has it all: zany pop-prog, sci-fi chiptune, pretty psychedelia, pitch-shifted alien rapping, space cowboy balladry... Basically the blueprint of all the things they would explore on their subsequent three albums, but they were already perfected here. This is also one of the two Henge releases that actually flow well as album-experiences. The space-afrobeat outro is a bit of an outlier, but it works perfectly, and it's also my favorite track on here. Favorite track: Demilitarise.

They’re like the love child of Hawkwind, Gong & Boney M with Sun Ra-esque stage costumes. This album is cosmic, comic and seriously funky in equal measure. Mark Feuer DiTusa Enji infuses driving jazz with her own personal sensibilities, creating music unlike any you've heard before. Her creativity on this album with spoken word interludes and a reimagining of an almost century-old standard stands out. Favorite track: Hungun.

lionvalley A beautiful album, sad and sultry, with sparse but rich instrumentation that pulls the listener through. I wouldn't have expected something in the jazz vocal tradition from the Shelter Press label, but that framework illustrates how Glass has developed her own space for her album debut.
