thierry_b Like a gem but immaterial. It has colors, light can pass through it, but yes the title says all.
    Nickie Harte Kelly thumbnail
Nickie Harte Kelly Duet of prog folk guitarists explore the Yorkshire dales, rural landscapes, and the artwork of the Pre-Raphaelites, who featured landscapes so stunningly. Reminiscent of Renbourn/Jansch collaborations, this is done completely live, with no overdubs. A masterwork. Favorite track: Windy Pike Blues.

guyrhart I’ve just listened to this album for the first time on the day of its release and I am bowled over. My impressions are hazy, hypnotic, delightful. It’s a bit like drifting down a river on a sunny afternoon with fingers dangling in the water. The two guitars fit together so perfectly that it’s like listening to a single instrument. The mood reminds me of Crosby, Stills and Nash at their most relaxed but the compositions have a flavour all of their own. Road to Mallaig stands out for me. 10/10 Favorite track: Road to Mallaig.

Mercy I think this is truly a modern classic that deserves to sit next to the likes of Duke Jordan, or Bill Evans. I have listened to it several times already and look forward to many more. It’s at once timeless and yet so thankfully contemporary. Justin Vernon’s influence is perfect here, adding just a touch of his own signature aesthetic.

If an album of solo piano music sounds like something you’d enjoy, you’ll love this one.
