bishirra I am so excited to have this available for streaming! I fell in love with Souled American when I was a college student at Illinois State University. Their sound was country, but not country. I had never heard anything like it. I was mesmerized. I took every opportunity I could to see them live. I bought their CDs. I knew they were going to make it big. It didn't happen. Even though it didn't, I'm happy to support them now and hope to help others discover them for the first time.

Rainquack Was kinda on the verge of getting this album or maybe subscribing for those lovely FLACs since a while now, after kinda falling in love with the whole album - uh, so I just instantly panic bought this in 2 minutes at 6 in the morning after barely even consciously comprehending the notification about a physical release in my emails. x3

tr_🇺🇦 Black funeral doom. Very calm, melodic and touching. Something to wallow in. I like every single riff. Vague but fitting production. But it's not about pure heaviness anyway. Check out the end of the last song. I couldn't wait to get home to listen undividedly. Favorite track: Austere Lament Part Two.
    Kadin Wisniewski thumbnail
Kadin Wisniewski This is some of the darkest and most despair-filled music I've ever heard. Favorite track: Requiem For The Dying Moon.

dajaslow I’m only 3 1/2 decades behind in hearing this for the first time. Where in the F&@k have I been. This is AMAZING STUFF! He is light years ahead of most folks musical taste and comprehension. Could have been recorded yesterday or 30 years from now. IT IS RELEVANT and beautiful!

    ThegnJoy thumbnail
ThegnJoy There are some absolutely unbelievable passages on this album that gave me full body chills making it a very addictive listen. Extremely high up contender for my favourite album of this year, and it may be hard to topple. Favorite track: Sway, Draped In Vague.
    Harold N’Hiver thumbnail
Harold N’Hiver If there was ever any doubt that AFoS is the most interesting and innovative band in metal - nay, in all of extreme music - (there wasn’t), this should settle that debate. The dramatics, the theatrics, the perfectly placed restraint… it’s all a recipe for excellence in composition and performance.

I don’t generally care anymore for “album of the year” talk, but this is going to be tough for any band to top.

And yes, please indulge in the deluxe edition. The 3 extra tracks are all phenomenal.
    Archmage Orladin thumbnail
Archmage Orladin On this album the extreme metal elements are slightly more subdued, in favor of a more meandering/progressive approach. Nevertheless the band is in peak form and there are several very memorable passages on all the songs, which is impressive due to their length. It must be said that the vocalist once again steals the show, and the man is in a class of his own among metal vocalists. While I prefer the previous two albums, this might be their best. A stunning masterpiece, and worth the wait. Favorite track: Not Drinking Water.
