samelectronics is an experimental interdisciplinary art project coming from the novgorod republic. founded in 2016 in one of the sleeping areas of novgorod as a purely musical project, today samelectronics has expanded its boundaries and is engaged in the exploration and transformation of reality and simulacra through the prism of music, sound art, video art, glitch art and other forms of media art. 

 

A key aspect of our work is the use of artificial intelligence and algorithms, which allows us to transmit experimental dreams and daydreams in a form previously inaccessible to the human imagination. we are riders of the metamodern, standing at the intersection of technology and art, convinced that neural networks and algorithms not only do not harm art, but also reveal new sides of it, expanding the horizons of perception. in each work we strive for a symbiosis between analog and digital, past and future, real and illusory, in order to redefine the boundaries of the human experience in the post-truth era. 

 

within the samelectronics project, a virtual muse and media artist re_nata (renata) was created. she exists as a post-identity born at the intersection of algorithms, dreams, and cultural codes. her image merges cybernetic utopia and intimate poetics of the body, glitch and care, digital anonymity and living presence. 

renata’s role in the project is to be a mediator between human and machine, artistic process and technological interface. she is neither a tool nor a character, but an autonomous media-subject who shapes the form of works, sets their tone, and initiates new practices. 

 

this is where the universe of layer zero emerges — a cyber-utopia at the fracture between reality and simulation. 

 

the year is 2027. the city of monteya — a shining metropolis built on the ruins of the old world. here, technology doesn’t just serve humans — it grows into their bodies and consciousness. memories can be bought and sold, touch has become currency, and the line between reality and the network has long since disappeared. 

 

the main character, juli sun, a 27-year-old graduate of media communications, lives at the crossroads of these flows. she is a mediator between body and machine, human and algorithm, dream and wakefulness. for her, the network is not a tool but a second skin, a new sensory organ. she moves through glitch zones, collects lost fragments of identities, and searches for her own voice in a world where any “self” can become a line of code in someone else’s protocol. 

 

this universe is held together by cracks and glitch-illuminations. it is precisely in the glitch that the authentic is born: love, pain, art — everything becomes code, and code becomes body. here there is no clear boundary between the living and the machinic. every step is a risk — to dissolve into the algorithm or to find a new, unpredictable way of existing.
