Changing the profile image (the image in the article's infobox, or the top image to the right of the introduction for a large majority of articles) is one of the most common proposed changes to articles on Avatar Wiki. Due to the regularity with which profile image changes are suggested, Avatar Wiki centralizes these changes on this page.
Procedures
- The proposer posts their suggestion(s) here. The proposer must support their suggestion(s) with a sensible reason for replacement ("it is an accurate representation of the character/plot").
- The proposer must then apply the {{PIC}} template to the top of the article for which a change is being proposed.
- Discussion about the proposal can begin immediately. An administrator may, however, decide to retroactively reject the proposal if it is felt it does not meet the required standards.
- If a discussion ensues and:
- there is unanimous agreement among all commenters, then the image can be replaced three days after the proposal was made
- there is a majority consensus in favor of one proposal and no comment has been made for three days, then the image can be replaced
- there is no clear consensus between involved users, then a ballot will be placed forward among the supported proposals
- In the case of proposals that regard the image of a newly created page (i.e. one less than a week old), the proposal is carried out after 24 hours if every participant is in agreement. If at least one user disagrees, the discussion will carry on for at least three days.
- In cases where the previous consensus of the community was that no suitable profile image existed, the addition of a new profile image should always go through consensus first, even if the source for the new image came after that decision. For articles where this applies, this will be noted with a hidden message at the top of the article.
In order to speed up the process, it can be beneficial to withhold your comments when you agree with the majority. Adding your own comment will reset the "three days without comment" waiting period for consensus.

The proposed is a very clean, clear, and straightforward piece of art of the lion turtle creature. The current image is a screenshot of an in universe drawing of it, and I feel, considering we have many depictions of actual lion turtles, it makes more sense to have a direct image of one. The marketing for the game has recently been using this new art of the characters, and this image is now clearly available on the Avatar Studios website. This image is functionally an update. There was recently some discussion on if there was a better screenshot to use for Sha-Mo's imagebox, as his current one has him at a profile view. Skimming his appearence in The Desert, I got this image as a proposed replacement. If accepted, I would propose the current image still be used on his article in his history header. I had not noticed it before, but Magic: The Gathering actually released a nice drawing of Ozai's personal airship for one of their card variations. The card's image imitates a technical drawing or "field note" which even fits with the airship's technical theme. Overall, I would argue that it is superior to the current image; it is better lit, clearer, more focused, and has a better angle. DyingFlameTsui (wall • contribs) 20:44, 4 April 2026 (UTC)
