Note: AU After Manga Chapter 404. Will somehow be compliant to 412... one day. When I figure out how to do it, and I am having a plot idea as we speak for that...
Parts: PI, PII, PIII, PIV, PV, PVI
Part V
For a few minutes, Sakura had foolishly believed she had really gotten away. Given, her plan was intelligent and she only had to worry about one, maybe two ninja. The only downfall was that she had to carry Sasuke. Despite her superhuman strength, Sakura still had to carry him in such a way as to not injure him, which was a problem in and of itself.
However, as she crossed in and out of a clearing, it became clear that she was no longer alone. Suigetsu slammed into her, knocking her off balance as she was unable to move correctly to block him without injuring Sasuke.
“Where did that energy come from?” He asked, exasperated, watching as Sakura just barely caught herself and Sasuke as she landed on the ground. The leaf ninja realized that Sasuke didn’t warrant any special concern to him, other than being a teammate. Sakura reasoned that he was in on this partnership for something meant to benefit himself. To Sakura, this could both benefit her and cause herself concern. Karin would’ve done anything to keep Sasuke, however… Suigetsu might be a little more willing to risk Sasuke’s life.

To Sakura, this could both benefit her and cause herself concern. Karin would’ve done anything to keep Sasuke, however… Suigetsu might be a little more willing to risk Sasuke’s life.
Suigetsu moved quickly, despite being slowed down by Zabuza’s monstrous sword. He swiped at Sakura, and she just barely ducked. However, it became quickly apparent that he was only testing her abilities, to see if that burst of energy he and Karin had not expected was all she had to offer.
Sakura was more than willing to be baited now. She carefully laid Sasuke down, beckoning towards Suigetsu, who’s eyebrows rose in pleasure.
“Alright, I’ve been itching for a fight.” He told her, readying his stance. Though he seemed to treat her the same way players often did on a baseball field, coming in closer to the home plate; believing the batter to be unable to hit far into the outfield. Sakura would enjoy proving him wrong. “Even if you are a med-nin. A Hokage’s apprentice has got to mean something.”
Sakura felt almost insulted, but wouldn’t let her emotions drive her. There was that other ninja… somewhere around here. She had to be quick. If he stepped in…
Suigetsu’s confidence was astounding, but Sakura would not allow herself to be afraid. She wasn’t the Genin she used to be, but now a powerful Chunin in her own right. She‘d take him down. After all, she had taken down stronger ninja under worse circumstances.
While most ninja prepared a weapon, or a ninjutsu, Sakura came at Suigetsu boldly with just her fists. He was caught off guard, expecting the weak med-nin to use her intelligence to try and win the fight rather than brawn she most certainly did not ha-
Sakura stopped just short of Suigetsu, punching into the ground with unseen strength, powered by chakra. He watched, too late, as the ground crumbled beneath him and caught him off balance.
However, instead of running Sakura was on him, quickly, brandishing a kunai threateningly at his throat. She wasn’t as fast as Sasuke, but she had one hell of a punch.
Hokage’s apprentice alright… He nearly whistled.
Suigetsu, despite being in a life of death situation, only smiled. “Aren‘t you med-nin? I thought you were supposed to save lives, not destroy them.” He was a little shocked she could crumble the ground beneath him, but wasn’t about to give in.
He had expected the kunoichi to flare up, but she took his words to heart and hesitated. Taking advantage of her weakness, he swiped his sword at her, cutting her in her abdomen as she barely escaped.
Sakura healed it immediately, while Suigetsu just watched her.
Suigetsu knew that wasn‘t just reserve or concealed energy. She had more than enough to fight him.
Heh. What an interesting girl.
He had no qualms about fighting women, especially one who could fight back. Karin was hardly a challenge, nor was he allowed to strike her, what with her being critical use to Sasuke. It was infuriating. Suigetsu hoped that his former teammate meant nothing to him, because if she did she wasn’t going to survive. If Suigetsu didn’t kill her, Karin would. If Karin had been able to heal Sasuke herself, she would have. Perhaps her inability was what sparked her to attempt to kidnap the hokage. Even he thought that was a foolish move.
But perhaps Sakura would even kill Karin. She seemed more than capable.
Either way, someone was going to get killed or seriously injured. It was enough to humor Suigetsu.
He charged at her, swiping his sword. They parried a few blows, and when Suigetsu finally saw an opening, he dove in. However, he was met with a powerful jabbing punch as the kunoichi powered both chakra into her fists, and her legs to up him on speed. Her perfect chakra control was outmatching his skill with the sword.
Though intelligent, she was able to sacrifice subtle attacks because of her sheer might, being able to make up more creative methods of battle when needed. Suigetsu raised his sword in defense, and briefly wondered if she could break the sword in half with her mighty strength. The ninja watched in absent horror as Sakura lunged at him again, with a punch he was sure was strong enough to knock him out.
However, both ninja were surprised when she was thrown into a nearby tree by what appeared to be an invisible force.
But Suigetsu knew better. He grinned, listening to Sakura’s muted howls of pain as she got up. He knew what she was thinking, that Juugo had finally stepped in.
If only she could’ve been that lucky.
Sakura’s eyes rose and keyed in on her attacker. She gasped.
No. He shouldn’t even be awake, let alone be able to move!
Sasuke was standing, no, wavering due to his lack of balance in front of her. His sharingan was swirling, and Sakura was so captivated by the sight she barely noted that he was indeed very tired.
The kunoichi could see he was angry, confused, and a little surprised, and he probably didn‘t even realize he was showing so many emotions at once. Suigetsu cheered, a bit, but he was silenced by a glare from Sasuke.
Sakura could only hazard to guess he thought Suigetsu was weak to be bested by his former teammate, of which he remembered as being very useless.
His gaze redirected back to her, and she could see that he was baffled by her presence.
"Sakura?"
