Architected and built a secure data management platform initially focused on paediatric research. The system enables multi-institution collaboration through global patient identifiers and FHIR-compliant health data workflows. Researchers can ingest clinical data, track versions, and release to external FHIR servers handling extremely large datasets.
Resideo (Honeywell)
Designed a federated GraphQL platform that unified fragmented departments, bringing one product to market in a quarter of expected time. Embedded with the Security team for six months to drive adoption, enabling Resideo's first external partnerships.

Built a workforce management web app for store colleagues, enabling schedule viewing, shift swaps, and availability management across the UK's largest retailer.
GHESKIO, Haiti
Built a patient tracking system for one of the largest HIV/TB care providers in the Americas. By measuring time spent at each clinic station, the tool helps reduce wait times which is a key barrier to patient attendance in communities where clinic visits mean missed school or work.
Marcel Cutts is a software engineer with a physics background and over a decade of professional experience. His work has ranged from particle physics research to scaling a zombie fitness app to 4 million users, with enterprise banking and e-commerce systems in between.
At Red Badger, he led digital transformation for HSBC projected to save over $1 billion, and built Tesco's e-commerce platforms. At Six to Start, he rewrote Zombies, Run! from the ground up when the MVP couldn't scale past a few hundred thousand users. New backends, new frontend, new infrastructure, growing it to 4 million users worldwide.
Earlier roles included research platforms at Great Ormond Street Hospital and security systems for the UK academic network. His physics background comes from research stints at DESY and De La Rue.
Marcel has spoken and MCed at conferences including React Advanced, London Node User Group, React Day Berlin, ReactNext, and React Boston, often exploring emerging technologies to figure out what's genuinely useful. His writing on engineering culture and salary transparency has resonated widely in the developer community. He founded ReasonML London and mentored students through Codebar.
