Adventures in Tea
The past week I've tried to search for good tea and discovered a few. Also need to buy a decent porcelain tea pot. I have a stainless steel one but it's not really suitable for more delicate teas.
Bigelow Green Tea: tea bags from America found in one small supermarket, not sure if it's a one-off or if they regularly import. The tea tasted okay but rather strong, almost like red tea. Considering the price tag, likely not a top tier one.
Japanese Sencha Tea bags: found this in a Korean supermarket. Good quality and quite strong. Slightly more expensive than normal tea bags but I guess it's the import/customs fee. Will be buying more of this.
These two are from a tea specialty shop I found near my workplace:
Chinese Yin Zhen: aka Silver Needle white tea. Lovely taste, almost airy! Very light tea. Would be good for an evening cup.
Chinese Lung Ching: aka Long Jing aka Dragon Well tea. When I asked the staff for a standard green tea from China, she said this was the usual one they recommended to first-time buyers. It's smooth and light. Not bitter at all.
I also bought an orange flower tea from France, haven't tried it yet. With winter coming, I want to look for Indian spicy tea next as I remember it tasting really nice with cardamon and cinnamon.
