I’m so glad I can finally go into more detail about DLC2! One thing I’m most excited about is the recurring boss fight with Jo of the Mountain, a recurring foe possessed by the Machine Devil who’s been haunting Emily and Prince Sam… it’s as much her story as anyone else’s.

This is card is one of the most momentous achievements in the history of game design. You can print anything on a card, even the worst possible idea, and players will have to do it. Sometimes you need to cross the line to know where the limits are.

This is exactly the same as an early intermediate fighting game player who doesn't know enough to respect pressure playing against someone who knows how to apply pressure but not how to earn respect yet. I think you learn a lot by seeing if your opponent can pull it off.

For absolutely free I'll share the most powerful tactic in yugioh master duel: not surrendering immediately. The number of times I've won bc my opponent randomly DC'd before they won or I had no win condition but my opponent was too impatient to see it got me to platinum.

Haha…I figured out how to properly launch fatal frame literally ten minutes after the stream ended. We will at least be back with it next time, hope you enjoyed my Mario torture in the meantime.

You can watch any of them but watch the original so you can see the canvas others are painting over. Probably Gundam The Origin manga is the best version of that story, but you appreciate its luxury more after '79, the show they had to fight tooth and nail to make something more.

Gundam isn't like Star Wars, where everyone agrees there's a "real" Star Wars, but no one agrees on which it is or where it can be found or who is getting closest to it. Getting into Gundam is the joy of watching artists show you radically different visions of what Gundam is.

Gundam is a kaleidoscope and almost all of it is ridiculous, incomplete, flawed, struggling against its budget, nonsensical or broken in some way. That's the beauty of Gundam: Gundam is a medium artists work in. They bring their own visions to Gundam, explore meaning through it.

Btw "underwater runway model" is a great description of William Gibson's prose. It's noir, hallucinogenic, at times difficult to follow, but very good at giving you the POV of a guy in so over his head he can barely comprehend what's happening, let alone what's at stake.

My takeaway from Tim Roger's Cyberpunk review was I should read Neuromancer instead. Everyone: read Neuromancer. You know how when you go back to the source of a genre it can feel retroactively cliched + the writing isn't great? Not here. I was like: Cyberpunk can be THIS good?!

apologies for a non-moot ramble but: Gunparade March was an absolutely massive hit in Japan so I think its influence can't be underestimated - but I feel GM itself was riding a wave of 'high schooler military mecha series' that were huge at the time

Sincere question for perhaps 6 people: Is Muv-Luv heavily based on Gunparade March or is there another work they're both influenced by? Both have an alt history branching in early 20th century due to aliens that require drafting high schoolers by 2000.

I thought very seriously about how to solve the 'kindness coins' issue of dating sims feeling manipulative and transactional but I'm now no longer interested in solving this problem and would like to make it the core feature of a disgustingly evil game no one will want to play.
