We brought creators Leah Thomas and Vartika Jangid together to collaborate on a vision of a community garden in the metaverse. “Everybody will be able to experience the surreal spaces and the unexplored dimensions we could all go to,” says Vartika. From a farm-to-table cafe to hydroponic gardens, this digital green space invites potential visitors to gather together and learn ways they can inject sustainable practices into their own lives. Like Leah shares in her poem Nature Responding, “we should listen to the earth and let our imaginations dream up a world that’s better for both people and planet.” If your volume is up, you can hear these words echoing through their garden. Although this specific community garden is still just a dream, it’s exciting to think about all the incredible spaces that could be made possible by creators like these two in the metaverse.
