You can start developing an app on a Mac today. Xcode 6 is available on the Mac App Store and includes everything you need to create apps for iOS, OS X, and watchOS.
Starting this fall in Xcode 7, everyone who has an Apple ID and is over 13 years old will be able to build apps that run directly on their Apple devices without joining a developer program. A beta version of Xcode 7 is available for download.
