Ramayana, the epic of Rama, prince of India: condensed into English verse by Romesh Dutt C. I. E.
The Ramayana, originally written in Sanskrit by Valmiki, is one of India's two great epics (the other being the Mahabharata) and is one of its most beloved stories. This work is a (condensed) verse translation of the Ramayana, by Romesh Chunder Dutt. The verse form of octameter couplets is unconventional, and takes a few pages to get used to, but it has found high praise from some sources, which have admired this translation for its genius.
