Off to a rocky start after one of the NYPhil's executives forgot Kwame Onwuachi's name when announcing he's going to be executive chef of the new restaurant at Geffen and then the other joked that it's because they can't pronounce his last name 😬

The Mets are in the biggest media market in the country (yes, NYC is big enough for two teams) and their fans in the '80s whose kids are now my age were go-go hedge-fund Reaganites. I'm sad for my friends whose team got eliminated last night, but stop it with this "underdog" shit

I grew up in NYC rooting for the @Mets but that was when they were plucky underdogs. It's always good to see teams with the gaudiest payrolls and most ostentatious owners spin off the track. Bye, bye, Mets.

David Cone had the best thing to say last night about "legitimate" records and the things you would have to discount throughout the history of baseball (racism, greenies, PEDs). So maybe we can celebrate one guy without denigrating another and hope to built a more perfect sport

This is a great episode about what the concussion protocol is and also, crucially, what it isn't. Smith talking about being tested to see if he needed to enter protocol and focusing so he could beat the test is so refreshingly honest. And still, the honesty is jarring to hear.

Correction! I was part of the production team on this. Coolio was NOT booked by mistake. But the producer misheard at a meeting and thought we'd booked Julio (Iglesias). Upon being set straight he uttered the immortal words: "Coolio? Who the f**k is Coolio?". The rest is history!

RIP Coolio. Never forget his appearance on Irish daytime chatshow Open House, who, legend has it, booked him by mistake. They hadn't arranged backing dancers, so he made the middle-age production crew dress up and do it instead. Best TV ever.
