Dan Mannarino is an Emmy-award winning Anchor/Reporter who wakes up early for the PIX 11 Morning News from 4am-9am.
I joined PIX11 News in September of 2011 and couldn’t be happier to be reporting in the area I was born and raised in. Since I joined the team, I have reported on all things from breaking news, to the Giants winning the Super Bowl, to crime, to helping solve peoples problems and issues. The biggest effort to help people in our region so far has been the “Pix 11 Cares” efforts to help bring attention to hard hit areas from Superstorm Sandy – know you are not forgotten.
Now, another question I often get is “What is your favorite story of all time?” It’s hard to pinpoint just one, but I can’t forget the story that garnered me with my first NY Regional Emmy Award. This was an investigative piece into a toxic spill in Le Roy, NY that led to a massive cleanup by the Environmental Protection Agency. The piece also won a NY State Broadcaster’s Award for “Best Hard News Story.”
Some of the highlights here at PIX11 include traveling to Rome, Italy twice, once for the election of Pope Francis I and the other for the elevation of Archbishop Timothy Dolan to Cardinal (and no it’s not my favorite just because I am Italian.)
Before I joined the PIX11 family, I worked at NY1 News and Verizon FiOs 1 News on Long Island and New Jersey. While at FiOs 1, I was nominated for a regional Emmy Award for an investigation into a nuclear power plant in New Jersey and if it was prepared for a natural disaster.
