Dear Pix 11 -- please stop minimizing and apologizing for what Paula Deen did. She did not just use "one word". She's carried on a long-term pattern of treating people of a different race badly. Her use of the word just reflected an attitude and willingness to mistreat people which was far worse.
June 27, 2013: Governor Christie: Why won’t he rescind his veto against gay marriage? Why not convert civil unions into full marriages? Is he afraid of the Catholic Church? If it appears that the MAJORITY of New Jersey folks are in favor of gay marriage, why have a referendum? Isn’t this an excessive waste of money? When will Christie realize that when gay people marry, all heterosexual marriages are STILL A UNION BETWTEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN? Nothing changes for straight people. The institution of marriage is as sacred as the married couple’s vows and commitment to upholding their vows. Rescinding his veto would be the easiest way to proceed. This is not about religion; it’s really about living in America, land of the free where the homos are brave. Referendums tend to bring out the worst attack ads against gays. The public will be subjected to insidiously inaccurate information, as well as sickening “predictions” of a future world going in a downward spiral. This scares people who are already being harangued by their “Christian” ministers. How unfair is this?
Marriage institution was created by the religions for a reason of procreation and not by any government. There for should not be regulated by government. If someone did not read any of the good book of their respective heritage: all books have stories similar to Sodom and Gomorrah. Both cities end up as fiery grave for all who lived there.
