Simone Eli
Simone Eli is a sports anchor and co-host of New York Nightcap, airing weekdays at 11 p.m. on PIX11.
Recognized as one of Nexstar Media Group’s top sports anchors, Simone plays a key role in leading company-wide coverage across more than 200 stations at major global events, including the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, College Football Playoff, and Olympic features for the group’s Athletes Who Inspire series.
Since arriving in New York, Simone has been a central voice in PIX11’s sports coverage, bringing national experience and a high-energy storytelling style to the country’s biggest media market.
Before PIX11, Simone spent the majority of her career covering the Southeastern Conference, with multiple stops in Alabama. She was twice named a finalist for Alabama Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association (NSMA).
In Birmingham, she co-hosted College Football Saturday, which earned a Southeast Emmy Award for Best Live Sports Program. Simone has also received multiple Associated Press and ABBY awards for excellence in sports reporting and storytelling.
She spent two years as a sports anchor and reporter at KPRC 2 (NBC) in Houston, where she covered the city’s professional teams, along with college and high school football across Texas.
Simone began her career as a television analyst and reporter for Buckeye Cable Sports Network in Toledo, Ohio.
A former Division I student-athlete, Simone earned both her bachelor’s degree in journalism and master’s degree in sports administration from Bowling Green State University, where she was a member of three Mid-American Conference championship basketball teams and made two NCAA Tournament appearances.
Simone is of Dominican heritage, with family roots in New York City.
Outside of the studio, Simone enjoys golfing, staying active, and spending time with her husband, Bart, and their son, JP.
