Antoine Gara

US private equity and deals editor

Antoine Gara is the US private equity and deals editor at the Financial Times. He covers buyout firms, the broader private capital industry and oversees a team responsible for the FT's US M&A coverage. In 2023, he was part of a team of FT reporters that were finalists for a Gerald Loeb award.
Previously, he was a senior editor at Forbes Magazine where he was a features and investigations writer covering finance and investing. He won a 2020 SABEW Best in Business award for his writing on Robinhood and spent the first part of his career at Lehman Brothers and Barclays.
