#01 - Ring
The pirate curses his cards and flings them across the table, hurling the silver and sapphire ring at him; Riku catches it easily and tucks it into his robe - Namine might like it.
#02 - Hero
Sora is like a hurricane; sweeping everyone along in his wake and leaving things changed forever behind him - Riku learns to accept that even in his own story, he isn't the hero.
#03 - Memory
Nightmares of orange eyes and long claw-like fingers wake him nearly every night and there's just a second, when he forgets that it never happened...at least, not to him.
#04 - Box
It's little better than a shoebox - all battered and worn - but that makes it easier to hide; he might not have any right to memories of a childhood but he keeps his real memories inside.
#05 - Run
"We can escape," He says in a voice that should be shaking with fear and hope, "They're not watching, not now."
#06 - Hurricane
The City That Never Was is a place of rain and dark; his mission briefing never mentioned the Lancer's hurricanes.
#07 - Wings
Finally, there comes a day - after months of training - when he can leap effortlessly from ground to balcony to roof; it isn't really flying but until he sprouts a pair of wings, it'll do.
#08 - Cold
Sora is shivering in the darkness beside him and even through the blindfold, he can see the big worried eyes so he drags a smile up from somewhere, "Not giving up yet, are you?"
#09 - Red
It comes as a sort of surprise, all the same; Larxene's laughter just background noise as he lifts a shaking hand to inspect the blood - he didn't really think that it would be red.
#10 - Drink
Vexen's celebration passes almost un-noticed in the castle at large, but he saves a glass of the sparkling white wine for Riku who doesn't understand why until much later.
#11 - Midnight
The Castle goes quiet around midnight, it means he can go to the kitchens and get them food - the nice food, not the "optimal nutrition" Vexen gives them - without too much risk of running into Them.
#12 - Temptation
It looks so easy with Kairi's hand held out in the space between them - he could be the 'real' Riku to her and so to everyone else - and it almost feels like grieving as he pulls the hood back over his hair "Wrong one."
#13 - View
The blindfold helps; he stops relying on light to see and starts to listen to the dark instead.
#14 - Music
IX - no, it's Dyme now - looks almost surprised to see him but he doesn't stop playing and Riku is glad of the chance to just listen for a change.
#15 - Silk
"It looks.." he half-smiles as Namine looks hopefully at him "...perfect; Sora's a lucky man."
#16 - Cover
He likes the robe, loose and big enough to cover his hair and his eyes and everything about him that isn't really his.
#17 - Promise
He doesn't need to look back to see her, the portal a pulse of Dark and potential in front of him "I'll be right back."
#18 - Dream
When he dreams, it all looks so much easier - the Dark a welcoming tapestry of power and allure - but it never survives the dawn.
#19 - Candle
After, when they're all free and seperate, Riku keeps a candle lit in the window of the castle so friends can find it even in the Dark.
#20 - Talent
It takes months to relearn what Riku's memories taught him and in the end, it takes a surprise attack by Heartless to bring it out; Riku tilts the Keyblade towards the light and wonders if this is enough to make him important.
#21 - Silence
He doesn't react, not to the punch, not to the hurt in Sora's voice as he demands to know the truth - after all, what could he possibly say?
#22 - Journey
He leaves before the celebrations start, just him, a few hundred munny and the small Shadow-Emblem who's adopted him; the war is over - time to find out what they were fighting for.
#23 - Fire
VIII is not exactly what he expected, smoother and more superficially stable than the others, but Riku can see the witch-fire in green eyes and stays well clear.
#24 - Strength
He isn't as strong as his original but he's tougher; Iron, after all, can be snapped, steel tends to bend.
#25 - Mask
Some people cover up their whole faces to keep the truth from getting out, he only needs the blindfold.
