Publisher Description
A powerful vampire. A human detective. A desire neither of them can escape.
When a string of brutal murders pulls detective Sydney Willows into a case unlike anything she’s faced before, she’s forced to work with Kade Issacson, a dominant, dangerously seductive vampire with secrets he doesn’t share.
Kade has spent centuries hunting monsters who prey on the innocent. Protecting Sydney should be simple. Falling for her is not. As the threat closes in and Sydney becomes the next target, he must decide how far he’s willing to go to keep her alive… and what he’s willing to risk to make her his.
Set in a world of vampires, shifters, witches, and powerful alphas, Kade’s Dark Embrace is the first audiobook in the bestselling Immortals of New Orleans series.

Very hot very steamy! The character development is fantastic. Lots of hunky Vamps, Lycans, Magic with a kickass gorgeous female lead detective.
The free price tag was not worth it
I realize this was the authors first book in the series and she is now a NY Times bestseller but this book was terrible. The dialogue was not natural at all and it felt like a 12 year old boy wrote this and just goggled a bunch of synonyms for body parts. I got this book free through Apple Books but if I was the author I wouldn’t want to give this away for free because if her writing got better I wouldn’t want to turn fans away. As of now she is off my list for ever wanting to read again. I actually did finish the whole book because after the midway point I was honestly just listen for the comedy of the ridiculous dialogue.
“Her libido took over in New Orleans. She just couldn’t think straight with her brain with her wanting aching loins”
