Get Microsoft Office 365 for Education - Free/Create an Account
All current students, faculty, and staff can use their matc.edu Gmail address to create a free Microsoft Office 365 for Education account here - Get Started.
NOTE - If you need the Microsoft Office 365 Apps version, you must request it specifically. Otherwise, you receive access to only the Microsoft Office 365 Desktop version. See Reset/Access instructions below.
Login to your Microsoft Office 365 for Education Account
Once you have registered your matc.edu address with Microsoft and created a password, log in at https://www.office.com with your matc.edu address and your Microsoft password. You must access your account every 30 days, or your password may need to be reset with MATC IT.
Desktop Version: You can download Microsoft Office 365 for free, on up to 5 PCs or Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 smartphones. Click on your name in the lower left side of your screen. Then click My Microsoft 365 profile. Note: MATC Chromebooks do not allow downloads.
Apps Version: You can also request access from IT to the App versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneNote. Click on Apps on the left side of your screen. This web-based access is the option available for use with MATC chromebooks.
Reset/Access. Can't login to Microsoft Office 365 for Education? Or need access to the Apps Version -
- Request your 365 password directly with the MATC Help Desk. If you need access to the Apps version, you must ask for it specifically.
OR

At the Microsoft Office 365 sign on screen. Click:

Sign In

Can't access your account.

Work or school account.

Follow the instructions to "Get back into your account".

MATC Help Desk will automatically respond during working hours with a link to reset your Office 365 password.

NOTE. Regarding Loss of Access to Microsoft Office 365.
Microsoft states: Your eligibility may need to be re-verified at any time. And your Microsoft Office 365 Education plan may temporarily expire:
- The Microsoft Office 365 applications may enter a reduced-functionality mode, which means that you can view documents, but you cannot edit or create new documents. This can often happen if you have not accessed your account within the past 30 days.
- Online services associated with the school email address—for example, Office 365 for the web and OneDrive—will no longer work.
- If your plan expires, you can extend your plan by re-verifying your status as an educator or student (see Reset instructions above).
