    As I've averred on these pages before, I am not a Gadget Girl. Like Alton Brown, I like most of my kitchen utensils to serve multiple purposes. I almost never buy a "one trick pony" for my kitchen.

    But I had to make an exception for this Danish dough whisk. As a person of very recent Danish ancestry, I had never heard of these little miracle workers, but I was surfing YouTube watching kitchen shows one day and saw Chris Thingummie of Cook's Country report on how terrific they are. And so I came to Amazon and found one, and bought it, and OMG THIS THING IS AMAZING!

    It's the simplest of gadgets: a sturdy wooden handle joined to a swizzle of stout wire. Looking at it, you would not think "that's going to mix up a huge bowl of bread dough with ferocious ease and efficiency!" And yet - it does! This whisk makes mixing up dough an absolute BREEZE. It is so much freaking better than a spoon that I almost can't describe it.

    I sent my mother one, which she uses to rip through double batches of very stiff biscotti batter in a trice. I use mine to make bread a few times a week.

    So far the whisk has stood up to hard use and not faltered. It appears to be constructed to go the distance.

    I give it only 4 stars for "ease of cleaning" because you do have to use a stiff brush to get every speck of dough from between the wires. It is 100% worth that bit of extra effort.
