I nominate Jeff Lorber Space-Time for Best Jazz instumental for 2021. Jeff seem to to put out great music every year. This disc is so good. Not one bad track. Every song just flows from one to the next. Great musicians and production. Can't stop listening to this. Definitly my favorite disc of the year. Numerous listens highly recomended. Can't say enough of this music. Doesn't get much better than this

What can I say? It's Jeff Lorber fusion. Reminds me of Kickin' It. And yes, Lorber is still kickin' it!

Great music

Never heard one thing by Jeff that I did not like. He gets it. Space Time is no different.

Quite frankly, this is one of the most consistent and entertaining projects from JeffBaby in a while. And to be fair, I have been a DIEHARD Jeff Lorber fan in all his incarnations since the 70s!! Here is vintage Jeff with crisp keyboards, sparkling arrangements, lively uptempo offerings as well as poignant/soothing ballads all reminding me of why I became so enthralled with this smooth jazz legend so long ago. Sooooooooooo glad you're back Jeff!!!!!!!

If your a fan of the Jeff Lorber Fusion then just add this one to your collection right away. If your looking for something to play in the car on a long journey then try this. Another work of fusion by the masters.

米国amazonのアルバムTop Paid Albumランキングを見ていて、本作が30位台にあった。ジャズ系は珍しいと思い、ジャケも良いので試聴して購入。ジェフ・ローバー、知りませんでした。70年代から活躍し、Jeff Lorber Fusionとしては2010年代以降、どのアルバムもビルボードのジャズ関係チャート上位に入り、3年前にはグラミーも取った。まず驚いたのはどの楽曲も３～４分と短いこと。わかりやすくキャッチーなモチーフ、洗練されたコードとアレンジ、ソロワークは変化に富み長すぎず、ミドルテンポ以上を揃えて飽きさせない。デジタル配信やストリーミングが主流となった今の音楽界で、このジャンルをアピールし続けられる努力は、すごいと思う。

プロデュースはジェフとジミー・ヘイスリップ。Dsのゲイリー・ノヴァックを加えてのトリオ。ゲストとして、ボブ・ミンツァー(T.Sax, 1,4,10)、マイケル・ランドー(G, 3,6,9)、ロベン・フォード(G, 4,7)。一番素敵だと感じたのは、ヒューバート・ローズ(Fl)参加の8。モチーフ、グルーヴ、PとFlのスリリングなユニゾン・アンサンブル、スリリングに美しいの一言。面白いのは、ヘイスリップのBアプローチ。シンセBのようなノリ・タッチ・音色を主体に、時折り生らしさをのぞかせる。ジェフのクレジットにシンセBともあるので何度か聴き返したが、ナゾが多いところはさすが（笑）。

閉塞感が続く中、こういう“キップの良い”音楽に浸るのは。心の栄養になると思います。
