    I think this would have been an excellent book.

    However by the time I had read to item 8, cattle figurine, the book had mentioned climate change several times.

    I for one am not reading this book to learn about climate change.

    Also in item 8, cattle figurine the book talks about the importance of cattle for the indigenous people then states and I quote "How did this humble beast become so important to human beings?" This is such a stupid question, anybody with a brain can answer that question immediately, unless of course you are an academic.

    At this point I had had enough.

    It only loaded the first eight pages of what I assume is the table of contents. It was noted that it was 100% done.

    Please don't buy this. It's just a list of 100 items, some British Museum objects and other names of scientists or ideas or inventions or events in 8 pages. It's just an attempt to fool people.

    I don't know how Amazon is showing Neil McGregor as it's author under details whereas the author's name is listed as Chan Shi on title page.
