About the Author

Stephen Kendrick is a speaker, screenwriter, and producer whose film credits include Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, and Courageous.  Stephen co-authored the New York Times bestsellers The Love Dare and The Resolution for Men. He is an associate pastor of preaching and prayer at Sherwood Church and serves on the board of the Fatherhood CoMission. Stephen and his wife, Jill, have six children.

CHURCH STAFF: Alex Kendrick joined Sherwood Baptist Church staff in 1999 as associate minister of media, overseeing church ministries in television, radio and film. He also teaches a weekly televised bible study program called Home Connection.

SHERWOOD PICTURES: Alex and his brother Stephen, who grew up shooting 8mm “chase ‘em down and shoot ‘em up” movies helped Sherwood Baptist establish Sherwood Pictures in 2003. Fireproof is their third movie after Flywheel and Facing the Giants. Giants played in more than 1,000 theaters after its Sept. 2006 release and grossed more than $10 million in box office receipts. The DVD has been released in 14 languages and in 56 countries—touching every continent. More than 6,500 churches have used the movie for ministry outreach. On Feb. 22, 2007, the Georgia State House of Representatives and Senate read a resolution honoring Sherwood Pictures and the church for Facing the Giants’ success and positive impact.

Stephen Kendrick is the co-writer and producer of the movies War Room, Courageous, Fireproof, and Facing the Giants and the co-author of the New York Times best selling books, The Love Dare, The Resolution for Men, and The Battleplan for Prayer.

Stephen serves on the boards of the Fatherhood Commission and the Christian Film Foundation and speaks at conferences and events across the nation. He and his wife, Jill, live in South Georgia with their six children and he enjoys working alongside his brothers Alex and Shannon at Kendrick Brothers' Productions.

CHURCH STAFF: For thirteen years, Stephen served as associate teaching pastor at Sherwood Church in Albany, Ga. He and his brother Alex helped establish Sherwood Pictures in 2003 and co-wrote and produced Sherwood's movies.

INTERVIEWS: Stephen has been interviewed by FOX and FRIENDS, CNN, ABC World News Tonight, The Washington Post, and on hundreds of radio programs.

EDUCATION: Stephen graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications and attended New Orleans Seminary.
