About this product

Top highlights

  • WHY DOG PUZZLE TOYS - Dogs are designed to spend hours each day working for their food. We essentially take this job away from them when we provide them with food in bowls. Along with a rise in obesity owing to overeating and less exercise, taking away the mental stimulation of hunting can cause behavioral issues that stem from boredom and separation anxiety.
  • WHAT IS LOOBANI WOODEN DOG PUZZLE TOYS - An excellent pick for both puppies and senior dogs (and all the ages in between), it helps with early brain development and mental stimulation to reduce the risk of decline over the years. It’s also an excellent option for daily slow feeder for dogs who like to inhale their food rather than properly eat and chew it.
  • HOW TO USE IT - The LOOBANI interactive dog toys feature three bottles that hold yummy treats. Your dog must not only flip the bottles, but keep them balanced upside-down in order for the treats to be released. This is an intermediate puzzle, but you can start your pooch off with an easier version by removing the lids from the bottles.
  • DOES NOT TIP OVER & 3 DIFFERENT HIGH FOR ADJUSTING - Made of durable material, the LOOBANI dog enrichment toys have three bottles connected to a heavy-duty base that won’t tip over as your dog tries to access the treats. They have 3 different high for adjusting, you can adjust the suitable high of them for dogs acoording to high of your dogs.
  • LARGE FOOD CAPACITY - The interactive doy toys with 3 bottles can take about 8 cup dog food, with spin bottle can take about 11 cup dog food. What's the more, you can take 3 different dog foods or treats in the different bottles. Those LOOBANI interactive dog toys also can be use as treat dispensing dog toys or food slow feeder.

Great for crazy pants dog needing extra mental & physical exercise

This video is the 1st time my puppy used this. He is the world’s most hyperactive, attention-deficit, destructive, insane puppy that has ever lived. I got him this as part of the practices I instituted to help him burn off some of that excessive mental & physical energy. He took to it like a duck to water and eats all of his meals out if it now.

It has 3 different heights you can screw in the cross bar holding the canisters. I’m tempted to take off a star for sturdiness because one of the screws holding the cross bar in place has been stripped since the beginning requiring replacement with a larger screw in order to keep the bar from falling off constantly, but that’s pretty random. Nothing else has broken or gone wrong and my pup is pretty aggressive at knocking it around. It has rubber feet to help keep it from sliding. They help, but the only thing that would fully hold it in place with my now 60 lb 5 month old punching it repeatedly would be flat weights. It never tips or breaks, just scoots around on the floor. This has been wonderful for him. I’m so glad I got it.

I have another dog who couldn’t figure out how to use it, but he tried it when he wasn’t as hungry and he’s more laidback.

Edit 2024 update: i fed my puppy all his meals in this for months. He's not a gentle house bear and he eventually broke it beyond my repairing skills. I just got another one for play enrichment for all the dogs. The company made some helpful improvements in the design since my 1st one. I had trouble with screws stripping in the original one. Now the screws don’t screw into just the bare wood, rather the predrilled holes have metal inserts the screws tighten into. Much more secure and not so easy to strip the hole. They also changed the type of screws used for the cross bar. They used plain 1” screws before, so they continually loosened as my dog inevitably turned the bar along with the cylinders. The type of screw they're using now is easy to retighten by hand and holds the bar still better (partly owing to the metal insert it screws into instead of plain wood), so it’s not turning & loosening constantly.

I bought the one with the puzzle in the bottom too this time. I’m not sure that was available 3 1/2 years ago. It’s neat because it gives a little more engagement, although I’ve found that type of puzzle is always easy for them to solve. I like that the puzzle “catches” a lot of the food/ treats when they fall so all of them aren’t scattered across the floor (scattered pieces add a bonus “Treasure Hunt” round to the game!). I don’t remember if the previous version had the rubber feet on the bottom. They don’t provide much traction on my floor, but they do add a little extra weight on the bottom, decreasing the ease of tipping it over.

I love how easy this thing is to put together. Couldn’t be easier unless they did it for you. You attach the base to the sides with 2 screws on each side, then put in a screw on each side of the crossbar. That’s it. Pay attention to the order you need to attach things tho. If you don’t add them in the right order, you’ll find yourself unscrewing things & redoing them 😄.

The screws come in 1 pack of 3 and 1pack of 2. I mistakenly thought the 3 were for the base attaching to the sides, which takes 4 screws total. After spending 5 mins searching for a lost 4th screw, I realized either it wasn’t included or I needed to figure out what the other pack of screws was for. Turns out one pack is for each side, and they give you an extra screw. So I wasn’t missing one, I was ahead by one. They considerately include the small Phillips head screwdriver you need for assembly too

My girl dog isn’t so bright and her answer to accessing things is to break into them. That means she crunched down on one of the removable cylinders for the puzzle and broke it in half easily. In her defense, it worked. But now I know not to use those with either of my dogs who have that tendency. The disks that spin around to cover other hiding spots also are not attached. They sit in as a peg-in-hole design. So those were likely to get chewed up (bc my dogs love the chew-everything-up game too). I removed those as soon as the treats under them were found to save them from a similar fate.

Overall, still a great toy. I had no qualms purchasing it again, and was pleasantly surprised to find improvements in all the small drawbacks I didn’t even consider noteworthy with the 1st one. The puzzle option only entertains them about 2 minutes longer, but is nice for catching falling pieces. If your dog likes to break stuff, don’t leave them unattended with the loose pieces.

I’m a veterinarian and have recommended this specific toy to several clients who also have very active puppies who need an output for both mental & physical energy. 👍

We have two VERY energetic Dobermans, one a 4 month old puppy and the other a 2 year old!

This toy is everything it promises and MORE!! It is super well made and easy to assemble! One refill keeps both of my dogs entertained for a good hour! My puppy is usually a picky eater...but when he has to “work” to get the “prize”...he doesn’t hesitate to EAT!!!

Congratulations to the makers of this GREAT toy! Dogs enjoy it SO MUCH that the one Owner temptation would be to refill it TOO many times throughout the day!

This toy is worth every penny I spent on it! I will be keeping my eyes open for more quality products from this great company!

    Thank you!

This is a cool design in theory, I saw a video demoing the toy that made it look like the height was adjustable for different difficulty levels, here's what I found after putting it together:

    - One of the screws broke in half as I was attaching it, another one poked through the other side of the wood when I screwed it in all the way, the whole thing is pretty wobbly when fully assembled but good enough for the purpose. I just can't ever take it apart again after the broken screw.

    - The dowel that the bottles hang from is screwed in place, so the height is not actually adjustable without taking it apart and risking damaging the wood or screws every time you change it.

    - The bottles are permanently attached to the dowel, so you'd ALSO need to unscrew and take it apart if you ever wanted to clean them. Also because they need to be put on before you screw the dowel in place, there's nowhere to grip the wood to screw in properly and so it's extra loose.

    - The bottles are at a fixed pivot point, you can't adjust the difficulty by raising or lowering the pivot and making the bottles easier or harder to tip.

On top of all that my dog couldn't figure it out, I'd love if it could be configured a few ways to allow for a ramp up of difficulty.

Between the lack of adaptability, inability to disassemble to clean easily, and poor construction, it overall feels like it's intended to be a single use item. If that single use entertains your dog for a while, great! But it feels expensive and wasteful of materials for something that can't really be used over and over.

Our dog loves this treat/food dispenser.

Our dog falls between 40-45 pounds. We didn’t know whether to buy small or large since she falls in between. The small to medium fits her paw reach perfect & bar w/tubes can be set higher or lower. It comes w/non-slip pads that help keep it steady while she spins those bottles. Bottle covers screw on tightly. So we had no issues w/covers coming off bottles. Bamboo is smooth, & it was easy to put together. I read some said screws broke. Thankfully, I had no issues, but I was careful to not over tightened since they are not the best quality of screws. Unfortunately, that quality of screw seems to be the norm now for many years. They did provide an extra screw. As for spacing of bottles, the small to medium size are spaced closer to together which is what she needed. The larger size, medium to large, has same size bottles on a longer rod causing lots of space between them. So bottles also slide back & forth across bar as it spins. Since she is quick & likes to hit the bottles a couple of times in a row, on the larger rod, the bottles slid leaving her smaller paw to hit/have nails catch on the rod in between bottles. Yes, her nails are trimmed. Should a larger dog have similar issues, I would suggest buying an extra bottle & adding a 4th to the bar as a remedy. With said, I will adjust the larger one’s bar higher & give to one of her larger doggy friends to enjoy! The best, my husband & I enjoy watching her spin those bottles like a slot machine for doggies!

...I just have to wonder if the designers of this thing have ever met a dog ?

I had been searching a long time for a good puzzle feeder for my Newfoundland. The Loobani Puzzle Toy was in my cart for 6 months as I scoured the interwebs before I finally decided it was the least worst option, and I went for it.

First: as you can see from the photos, my slobbery long-haired dog gets the outside of this thing very very dirty every time she uses it. If you have a less disgusting dog I suppose your mileage may vary. But I cannot wash it very often because the whole thing doesn't quite fit in my large farmhouse-style sink. Also it's made from bamboo which--and this is true--is very absorbent.

Second: none of the screw holes appear to have been drilled straight, so none of the pieces of the frame are flush. Which means the toy does not sit flat on the floor but rather rocks slightly, like that one patio table at your favorite outdoor dining spot. And the crevices created by the lack of alignment are fabulous at holding onto great clogs of snarled fur that often can only be pulled out with tweezers.

Third: my sweet darling puzzle-loving Newfie also gets lots of drool INSIDE the toy--you know, in the plastic tube-shaped containers where the food goes? But the first time you put this thing together, you slide those containers onto the bamboo bar...and then screw the bar into place on the frame. The containers don't just *come off*. The only way to rinse and dry them is to get out the screwdriver and take the bar off the frame so you can slide them off every time they need to be cleaned out.

In conclusion: considering that I have to take the entire thing apart, carefully set the screws aside so I don't lose them, scrape all the dried slobberhaircrust off each wooden piece and tweeze it out of the cracks, wash out the three tube containers with soap and warm water, arrange everything to dry in a drying rack, then screw everything back together before my dog can use it again, I have to say: I'm rather disappointed.

I am hopeful that this is just the prototype, however.

Maybe with enough feedback and some more R&D, Loobani will come out with a new and improved version of this toy! And maybe, since I gave such a detailed review and am now publicly vowing to continue going through all the steps with this feeder at least 4 times a week until the thing falls apart completely, because my dog absolutely loves it (and I will do anything for her, obviously)

    just maybe!

they will send me their new version free of charge as soon as it comes out? It's the least they could do, honestly.

Purchased this Spinning Bottle toy for our corgi Corky for her birthday, and it was such a hit that we came back and bought a second one for her brother, Auggie. This is their favorite toy! It is well made, sturdy and durable, and I love that you can customize it by varying the height placement of the bottles. This can be handy for changing the difficulty level as the dogs become too familiar with the toy. The base is well designed and the toy does not tip, even with Corky's aggressive style of play. The toy was very quick and easy to assemble, with clear instructions and even rubber no-skid pads for the bottom of the feet. The bottles are easy to clean and fill, and swing freely and securely on the frame. This is a very well made toy. My only critical comments might be that it would be nice to be able to change the bottle height and remove the bottles for cleaning without having to find a screwdriver each time; and, perhaps Loobani could provide a "training" bottle for those unfamiliar with the toy. When we first set up the toy, neither dog could figure out how to get the treats from the bottles without trying to unscrew the tops (and marring the plastic in the process.) You definitely want to supervise the play until everyone knows you don't eat the plastic. To help, we made a trainer from an old clear soda bottle by cutting two holes in the sides and stringing it on the rod. Once the dogs could see the treats clearly, and watch the process as the treats came out of the bottle, we were off and running. We then placed the trainer on the rod next to one of the regular bottles for a while, and then later with two bottles, until they figured out the process. Now they play well with the three provided bottles and no longer need the trainer, although that opens up the possibility of trying out different shape bottles and things in the future for added fun. I love open ended toys! So how will your pet play with it? Will they spin it as fast they can until everything flies out all over the place (like Corky), or will they balance the bottle upside down on their nose and shake it/nudge it until everything drops out (like Auggie)? Let the games begin!

Best thing we ever bought for our dogs, in the beginning we helped the pups a bit but after two time use they knew how to and they spin the bottles like a pro, mostly one do the work and the other just sit and wait for when they fall, we added some tape over the largest opening to make it not to easy to fall out, we just add some dry food

This is 5 star product, except i got 6 exactly the same screw caps, where i should get 3 this type and 3 different. No big deal, product is too good to take one star just for one mistake. Anyway, after 3 weeks of training my dummy dog how to use it, he is only thinking right now about this. He wakes up and rund straight to this, every single day. Dog really loves it, product is 5/5

About this Item
