    This anthology is a two volume set. I had found the first volume in an antique store and totally enjoyed it. The forward in the first volume gave some teasers for the second volume, but I despaired of ever finding it. Amazon had it, and the fulfillment was quick.

    The 50's and 60's in many ways were the apex years of science fiction, not that a lot of good stuff hasn't been written since then...but the current crop is heavy laden with social messages and allegories that get away from the fundamental escapism of the earlier works. This is escapism at its best. Everything from a curious short story of the life of Lincoln if he hadn't died from John Wilkes Booth's bullet to a good old fashioned space shoot 'em up on one of the moons of Jupiter.

    Great reading for those who appreciate the simplicity of a well told story. A great introduction to science fiction of years gone by for those who have never read works from that era.

    Picture shows both books together. I made purchase and received only one book. When I went back and looked at the invoice, it clearly says Volume 2 only (in very tiny print). The picture should match the description.

    Has some great stories from some of the more eclectic sci-fi writers. The book is actually part of an anthology that consists of two books. If you get this you're gonna want to get the other as well.
