OKAY so that was whiny
Apparently I was feeling whiny last night. Oh well. It's not any less true, just whiny.
1. One more day of freedom until I go back to work. Started having those weird moments of anxiety like "wait, what if I was supposed to go back to work today?" Argh. SHUT UP BRAIN.
2. The cats are passed out in the matching armchairs. It's a little adorable. Yes, Saffron is sleeping on a basketball.

Gratuitous "my cat is really kind of adorable" pic:

3. I'm starving but too lazy to go make some breakfast.
4. Dear Hive, I had a dream we were on the lam and Obadiah was after us. Rhod and Gabby and I were separated from everyone, and then I was separated from them, and it was scary.
5. Book brought to Pentwater, MI to read on the beach: "Pride and Prejudice and Zombies." Books read instead: "No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency," several chapters in "A Sand County Almanac." Read the latter in college but lost my copy. Should correct this. The former I had mixed feelings about. It was enjoyable but it's a white dude writing an African woman, and that pings the cultural appropriation button big time. I don't know enough about Botswana to tell if it's an accurate portrayal. It's certainly sympathetic. But, button.
6. Pentwater pics, to counteract yesterday's whine:
My handsome younger brothers:

Someone counted over 100 steps down from the house to the beach:

Kids! My nephew is on the left.

First day was rather dramatically cloudy:

Second day was kinda gorgeous:

Okay, wow, image heavy. More later!
