Fifty-two riders entered the race, which offered pounds 170 in prize money and which is part of the Tyne Tees SPOCO Series and the opening event of the North East Time Trial calendar.

The race was round four of Teesside Cycling Association's sporting courses (SPOCO) series, which continues this Sunday with Stockton Wheelers' event - a 23-miler at Bishopton.
